I have a question about Alt's. I believe mine in my 95 YJ is shot. Bearing is gone, causing the belt to slip. Napa can get me a 137amp one from a 4 lt. 95-97 Grand. Mine is a stock 110amp on my 4lt. All I can find is a 90 amp to replace it.
So would the one for the 4lt Grand fit my 95 YJ? It has to be ordered in.
Tks Kevin

My catalogs only go up to '93 on Alternators and they take a 6203 2rs - $4.00; and a MNJ417S - $5.00 the 6203 are always stock here but the other is from Toronto and would take 3-4 days to bring in

Give Walter a call he did mine fast.(rebuilt it!!) and it put out 120 amps on his tester.......and the cost was less than half of a new one!

Tks guys. The bearing idea sounds good. I was thinking rebuild but it leaves me short a needed Jeep. Looks like I'll need to bite the bullet.

Grand ones to fit tho.. FYI.. but rebuilding with more output is usually more cost effective.

If I remember correctly, there is 1 small mod to make it perfect, if I find it I'll post.

It seizes up under laod. Bearings are fine. I'm stumped Thinking about just changing the main bearing as it has some wear. On test I had it jump from 110amps-30amps. Then it caused the belt on the tester I was using to slip! Came back and said bad part replace! What a smart tester, it figured that out all by it's self!

Naw Jan pulled it down and found nothing. Took it over to the rebuild shop as I was stumped. The guy said ya the Bearing was a bit bad as I had kept the old one. He found nothing wrong! I don't mind being stumped but hate the idea of having an issue back in the woods. I'm throwing it on tomorrow and we'll see what happens.
I was trying to think if the unite under full load would or could have put that much load on the system. If the belt was a tad slack could that have made it slip? The belt was as tight as I always keep them. It's got me beat.
