OK, so the light came on yesterday after a hill climb to let me know the motor was getting hot. God news is the idiot light works...bad news is, well, this thing has the stock cooling system, which is to say it's not up to snuff for cooling the 4.0 sometimes.
Sure the rad is in good shape, and though it's the older, closed system, daily driving is no problem at all. It's trail work that's a bugger.
Step one, I guess, is to install an aux electric cooling fan. The question is, what? Taurus fan - I recall that one. I think jan was posting the how-to in the old forums.
I figure I have to find the damn thing and get it working, so any help on either/both would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Duane

I have a Flowkooler high flow water pump. It's the bomb. Flows 3 times the coolant at low rpm's.
Also picked up a stock aux. electric fan from the dealer for $200, plugs and bolts right in on the XJ. Well worth $200 IMO. Only runs when the when you pass a certain temp, and quickly brings the temp back down.
