Yes, you have to be carefull, they can kick back into your hand and whatnot. Grinding and flap discs don't have a tendancy of breaking to pieces or flying off. All the other PPE gets worn. I buy good quality consumables, Never had a good zip disc fly apart. Yes I'm one of those guys whos a hypocrite, safety officer at work, makes the guys at work put the guards on then go works at home with no guards.

I converted an old home made wood stove into a new home made waste oil stove... with forced induction ;D Cost me about $3 to convert. The burner is a pair of old Dodge Neon rotors and a Neon drum. The air tube is made up of old exhaust bits, the blower is an old fireplace blower, and the oil is gravity fed. This sucker gets nice and hot and once warmed up does not smoke at all, thanks to the forced induction keeping things nice and lean... Attachments:

The burner (slightly modified since this photo was taken, I flipped the upper rotor over. It's easier to light and gets hotter this way): Attachments:

my brother had that setup in his garage and started it one morning while myself and our other brother was there. we were busy for a half hour to an hour making a racket and didn't notice that it had gone out for some reason, my brother went and without thinking opened the stove door - kaboom !!! flames shot out instantly and engulfed him entirely, burnt off his hair, eyebrows and bad burns to his face, I was 10' away and lost my eyebrows, we rushed him to the clinic after putting out the fire which took 3 extinguishers and he was off work for 3 weeks - fully recovered but his face looked terrible with the blisters and skin peeling off - neither of us thought of the onrush of air into the stove and the amount of oil in there that had gathered - could have been much worse and a lot more damage done
be careful

I built this crane this week, for taking the engine out of really tall Jeeps. It's really for lifting airplanes to install floats. 14' wide inside, about 14' high.
