Well I tore into the front end this morning and found the following: Pinion bearings (Why are started prepping my spare D30) Both upper ball joints on either side Driver's side wheel bearing Driver's side caliper is seized shimmy shock is half gone tie-rod bent in the center
Luckily I bought that burnt YJ for $50 and it's front axle has everything good except for the driver's side U-joint. Axle swap in full swing now... just switched out the bad U-joint with my spare shaft and found a nice shiny wheel unit bearing under all the dirt! Best $50 I ever spent!
It's nice to have a relatively short list on the MJ now: - replace 2 axle joints - replace 2 LCA's - replace exhaust hanger at trans cross member - re-weld rear exhaust hanger - re-repair trail-fixed fuel pump wiring
Not really. Still have to pack up all the tools and parts, arrange the accommodations, and pack all the camping gear.
Wagoneer is also ready, finished that Sunday.
Still some small things I'd like to get done to both Jeeps but nothing that has to be done. Work one more shift tonight then have all day Wednesday and Thurs to pack/tidy up the Jeeps.
Tony Chase, NSJC Valley Chapter Steering commitee '90 XJ Pioneer, 4.0, AW4, NP231, D30/D35, 30x9.50 BFG M/T's, straight body panels, and shiny paint. Weird I know, but it's gonna be nice not being the ugliest Jeep in the club anymore.
Finished fixing a window winder that let go while trail clearing. Picked up my tail pipe that's been laying by the garage and modified it so it fit better, clamped it up. Jeep needs a wash, then pack the tool box tomorrow.
New tank, and skid plate, thank's APJ for the skid.Locker removed, either I made a mistake on install or,,,,,,,,test drive to Burnside, than APJ's worked fine. Seem's to still heat up when ideling. Installed a new battery yesterday. Than proceeded to back into my car in the driveway Da Dogg

96 XJ, Black, 4.5" RE Super Flex Lift, 32x9.50 TSL's, Custom Roof Rack, Tom Woods Front Drive Shaft, 4340 axle shafts, Doestec shocks on the front, RS5000 on the rear, Clonometer, CB, Lots of Lights, Omix Header and free flow exhaust, Scottanchee 8.25 diff cover, FOZZY LOCKED Rear, Custom Rock Rails and Custom Rear Bumper, Garmin GPSMAP 76Cx with topo's
I got the jeep down to Fox Mountain last night, there is a serious gremlin living in it, wasn't smooth at all. Everything feels tight, DS is new, wheel bearings all feel good. Either the T-case is coming apart, or the tranny is unbolting itself. Will have to do some investigation on Thursday at the camp site.
Working on finshing bolting the gas tank skid in, fishing 4 bolts for rock rail's, and now finding I have to shim my skid cause it's hitting on the steering linkage Ohh and pack my tool's, some more spare parts and my clothes.Edit; and install my 2 new sticker's ,,,,,wow 2:30 am when I finshed, the steel for the vise mount was stupid hard to drill.
