Started to feel dizzy this morning in the shower, I quickly stepped out and woke face up on the floor. Not quite sure what happened there, I've only ever fainted twice before this. Once was changing tires on a really hot day probably 10 years ago, the other time was after a long night of drinking and I got up too fast to pee.
Initially I thought it was because I ate a ton of sodium yesterday (Subway plus a nice surprise of Derby tips from Steak and Stein) but then I started reading and found that it was likely more because of a sodium deficiency rather than an excessive intake.
I do sweat out about 2lbs of water every night 4 or 5 times a week (I weigh myself before and after) but I make sure to replace it immediately after. I realize I am losing sodium as well but I can assure you I don't have a low sodium diet.
I also didn't sleep well last night, had crazy dreams I was working at Ford and on Monday's Rick Hollis lets them play hockey and watch movies, then my teeth fell out?! I woke up several times from that.
Anyway I have to be more careful, I am going to keep a few Gatorades around the house. The mid point weigh-in is tomorrow, so I'll get to see where I rank in the standings.

Yeah, it went into life preserver mode and wrapped all around my head to cushion the fall. To think, I was going to shave it off last night!

Another solid week in the books, down 3.6lbs bringing me to a total of 18.8lbs and a weight of 188.6lbs. It's weird to think I am only 5lbs away from last years winning weight and only half way through the competition.
I spoke to our dietician yesterday about my fainting spell and she said since I exercise after supper usually between 7:30 and 9pm I should be eating a little something after my workout. I am going to bed with my body exhausted of nutrients so through the night it has nothing to sustain itself other than my body fat which she said isn't a bad thing but it can cause exactly what happened to me.
I picked up a can of powdered Gatorade which by the way makes 17 bottles for the same price as 6 bottles! LESS deposit! mix 2 TBSP (it recommends 3) with a big glass of water and I downed it before bed. So far so good!
I contemplated grabbing one of those ridiculous sized tubs of protein as well but for $33 dollars I think I'll try my luck with this solution first. I may switch to the protein after the challenge, when as long as I can stay true to myself, start hitting the gym and reach my ultimate goal of having prominent Pectoralis Major muscles.

Only lost .6lbs this week. A little disappointing but it seems to be a trend every 4 weeks. On Feb 20th I had gained 1lbs but after that it's a pretty steady down hill, hopefully.
Started doing some rubber band resistance training last night, it's a nice change from the bike. Certainly doesn't produce a satisfying sweat like the exercise bike but I am feeling it this morning!

Hey Brandon, you are doing great bud! I too have had my share of dizzy spells just following a workout or even during. I really recommend taking a protein shake with in 20 min of ur workout. It replenishes the muscles and helps build muscle which in turn burns calories and fat. Give BSTing a call he can def point you in the proper healthy direction! Good luck my bearded buddy! ;D

Thanks Bubb!! My main concern with the Protein was the extra calories it would add to my diet, then I compared the Gatorade that I am drinking afterwards to a few different types of whey protein and they came out basically even, a bonus for the protein was well, the added protein! I think I will contact Scott and see what he can get me.
Today's weigh in wasn't as good as I was expecting as I had a couple good poops this week and upped my time on the bike to 45mins. I did however hit the 20lbs down mark with this weigh in.
187.8 last week to 186.2 this week. I've been reading a lot of weight loss strategies to see if there is anything I can improve on but what I have come to realize is that Diet's are a lot like religion. In the end they achieve the same result, there are million beliefs on which way is better and they all want money!. I'll stick with my divine creation of eating less garbage and moving more, seems pretty simple to me.

My wife took off 50lbs back in 2005-6 by completely changing her/our diet and eating habits, and excercising and generally being more active. All the weight is still off, and she continues to be active and eat right (most of the time ) If you were to get onto on of those diet programs like weight wtachers or Jenny Craig, you stand a greater chance of putting weight back on from going back to old eating habits when you stop buying/eating their food. Change up your workout regime from time to time too. As your body gets accustommed to the same workouts over time, and your results start to plateau. Keep up the good work

Thanks man!
It's basically the same story every year for me. I start this process, hit a plateau, start running instead of cycling, lose 32lbs, gain most of it back, lose it again etc... I REALLY hope I can continue on this year and keep it off, I've heard some terrible stories of what yo-yo'ing can do and plus it's a lot of f*cking work to lose this weight every year.
I like the structure of the weight watcher's diets, it basically simplifies the whole item rather than just counting calories like I do. I try to take into consideration things like sodium and sugars (carbs) but my brain can only calculate so many things at once!
I'll just keep doing what I am doing, I may not win the competition this year but hopefully I can make a positive change.
