Replaced my front trac bar with an adjustable one so i can recenter my front axle...found three of the holes in the mounting brackets have oblonged. Have drill out new pieces to weld to the bracket but unfortunately the stock bolts will be too short. So off to transworld tomorrow for two new bolts that are 1/2 inch longer to accommodate the extra pieces of 3/16 that I will be welding in. Hopefully the 3/16 will make it less susceptible to wear. Sent from my SGH-I747M using proboards This is a common issue with the JKs, the track bar bolt to the axle bracket is actually something like 0.05" smaller in diamter than the hole... I swapped mine out with grade 8 hardware of the proper diamater Did that when I first bought it

Well as it say in my signature.. V8,35" tires and stock axles, what will break first..I finally broke something, totally not what I expected, broke a front shock. Think I bottomed out the front suspension and blew the oil out of it.

Gotta love fixing the death wobble with the proper new part, only to move the problem to the other end of the bar ...

I made a flagpole for the Jeep. A member on the clubs facebook page saved me a lot of trial an error with some suggestions. James

Parked the Rubi in cb till hunting season. Finally rebuilt the Integra. Need a break from gas pumps, dump truck ride and slow shifts and being slow in general. Even though i know I'll miss it in a few days haha.

Well in the last 6 months for us it has been a complete front axle rebuild, new upper and lower ball joints, front wheel bearing, new u joints, new seat belts, complete new brakes on all four corners, new tie rod, exhaust pipe to the rear bumper, repair the 8274, and after all this still have a couple dollars left to go on this months club run. Oh and I kicked it really hard for being such a bitc* these last several months.

Holy crap, this thread has died! No one has done ANYTHING with their Jeeps?!?! Well since last night's weather forecast was not promising for going snowboarding, I decided to start installing the 2" Budget Boost lift that has been hanging around the garage for quite some time on Tara's 2002 Overland. Picking up a set of tires kind of spurred this into getting done, as the tires wouldn't fit without it... Picked these up on the long weekend... 5 Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armour, sized 245/75r17... Before (Pic from the day we bought it...): I tackled the front last night, and the rear this morning... After (on the old stock 235/65r17s...): I am hoping to get the tires mounted this week

In the last week I changed my front 3 link into a radius arm (moved top link from frame mount to mount on lower arm). I replaced the ball joints and both front axle joints as I finish up my axle swap. Hoping to be mobile this weekend for the Valley Chapter run.

Got the new tires on Tara's Overland yesterday ... I decided to go a different route to balance them over external weights... Airsoft BBs ... With 6.5 ounces in each tire, there is no wobbles right up through to 120km/h! The before and in-between pics are 2 posts up... Here is the final pic...

New brake calipers in the front, refilled and bled the system. Had to bench bleed the master cylinder, bit of a PITA. Cut and extended both driveshafts. Rear is 19" and front is 47".
All that's left for now is to weld up the rear diff and install the front driveshaft.
And then I sold my house and will be renting a place without a garage for a while. Time to find some self-storage!
