You pick the trail you want to run, there are descriptions of what the trail is like. Vids and everything. The trailguides for the particular trail you may be interested in can tell you exactly what to expect, and you can base your trail choice on that information.
there will be trail choices without giant mudholes. There is a large range of soil types in different parts of the valley. There are rock trails, 200 yo logging roads, silty valley mud, everything.

why would the registration cost of the jam be the same for the driver and passenger? we would basically be paying for 2 camp lots and 2 rigs??

because the costs for meals, camping ect. are the same for each body, as we charge per person not per rig!

anyone else bringing their dog(s)? not sure if i want to or not because i don't want to be "that guy" and i am not even sure if the camp ground allows it.
im leaning more towards not bringing him, but saving 62 bucks is pretty appealing too...

The campground was pet friendly in preveious years but dogs needed to be on a leash at all times. Owners were responsible for "picking up" after them too! ;D

now that you mention the leash thing, im going to go with not bringing him. He'll be too barky if he can't wander on his own and meet people, and that gets annoying fast.
on another note he's really good at recycling his food if you let him....

"I believe kids were to be kept on leash and animals supervised,,"
I was a trail guide last year at the Jam, as I was explaining the upcoming washout obstacle. I used that term "Keep your kids on a leash while you are in the trail".
I guess, I upseted someone in the crowd. There was a complain against me and it was kindly brought to my intention by the higher up.
I guess you have to be politically correct at all time. Of course the complain was made anonymous to me but the higher up passed my apologies to the right person.

This is how we feel about bringing our dog too. The whole being confined to a leash thing with so many potential new friends around would be too stressful for both him and us, so the pooch goes and has a "sleepover" with the neighbours and their dog while we whoop it up at Jam!
