I'm taking the step up from flux core to solid core wire.
I just dropped off my tank at Air Liquide to be sent away to have a valve put in.
What is the best or favorite gas to run?
Straight CO2 as its cheap or a mixed gas (blueshield for Air Liquide)?

I've always used the mixed stuff from BOC, now Linde. Never tried straight CO2.

Yeah dude reccomended it as its more popular being cheaper and all..
the mixed gas allows you a better weld on metal that isin't as clean supposedly...

The mix works good is all I can say. a lot of the stuff I weld isn't perfect. I don't clean the mill scale or nitriding off my plamsa cut parts, and it works great. i only clean up if it has a high load, or is really dirty.

There's 2 different mixes too isn't there? Something like 90/10 or 75/25.

I've used CO2 a few times, it splatters a lot (shower of sparks). I use Praxair, think it's called autoweld, works great.
