This came up in a conversation I had with a member of the committee and since Jam is still very fresh in our minds I have to ask, if you could change anything from the weekend what would it be?
No need to be negative, no need to disrespectful just toss in your two cents, after all Jam is for the participants.
My suggestions...
-Have EVERYONE down in the lower field, this may help limit vehicle traffic early mornings and late at night and give Jam a bigger feel as it wouldn't be so spread out.
-Offer trails only regardless of price of camping fees.
-Maybe some kind of entertainment ( band ) or something Saturday night.
- I also wish the mud pit could somehow possibly be done during daylight hours, and maybe let people play a little more than what they did. Maybe put up a 2 minute or less time limit to try and get through.
I do not have time to get involved but hope that these and all other reasonable suggestions would be considered for future.

I agree to have everything in the same area, but we do need a little seperation for more family orintated group's.
Breaking trail group's up to smaller numbers somehow.
More time for the mud pit I agree, and more time for the other things, wish I could have made the blind fold race.
A few more trail's offered.
Ummm something else was on my mind but I cant remember now.
This year overall from last year relation, beter food, trails were even but seemed less, all in all a great jam in my opinion.
OOOoooo more people have to come see me ;D
This is something that I believe gets beter each year, with our work and feed back. As stated, keep it positive as you can, but let us know from your view hpow we can make it beter for you.

I too agree and also thought of the suggestion to break the groups up and have them leave an hr or so apart.....apparently another group did this on their own on Saturday and it did work out quite well....gave more time for moving and to enjoy it little more of the trail....their are alot of great folks in this group with great suggestions and ideas...and some of us do not know what has or has not been done before....so as was stated above, a suggestion is just that, it is not meant as negativity...there's often ways to improve all things a little or a lot if need be....on that note this was my first official Jam and I did have a great time!! ;D.....oh and yes the Mud Pit, I would have to agree, daylight hrs might be better.... Thanks to everyone who put in all of their time to organize this event!!

I have to say for my First Jam I thought it was very well done. I have organized large events and I know the kind of work that has to go into something like this. It is hard enough to arrange a day wheeling let alone a whole weekend. My hats off to the organizing committee. Well done. Real good attention to detail.
- Smaller Groups - To help accommodate smaller groups we will need more trail guides. My understanding is that Trail Guides get in Free. Someone suggested Associated Trail Guides. Still have to pay but can help Lead or Tail Gunner a group. I will volunteer to do this next year. The $ goes to great prizes and food.
- Band / Open Mic Night - I was surprised that no one brought guitars etc for a camp fire sing along. I am not much of a guitarist; but I will bring one next year, just don't expect me to sing. I sound better if I drink.
- Events for the Kids? Hey the CVO Mini Jeep was awesome. I had to keep telling my son it was broken after we went for out first spin on it. He would have driven it all weekend. He wanted to take it on a trail.
Already counting down to next year.

Oh take all the stones out of the mud pit. Man that was nasty. You could build Hadrian's Wall with all the stones that were in the pit. Made a real nasty sound when the Jeeps hit the mud. Sounded like throwing gravel on a hardwood floor.

Mabe we could put each chapter of the club in charge of a trail.. Just to break it up some and to get more people involved in the Jam.... Just a thought.

- reverse the order of the mud pit. Big riggs would have more of a challenge (not an issue this year, but has been in years passed) and small rigs would have more of a chance to get through. Then if at the end no one's made it through, let people try again.
- lower the cost to attend. I understand we've made money every year we've done this since taking over from Chrysler. I understand some money needs to be kept for pre-paying, or emergencies but this isn't supposed to make money. Pass it along to the attendants.
- goes along with above, and I hear rumors that this may be an option for next year, but offer a "no meals" pass at a reduced cost.
- There should be men's and ladie's shirts. I'm guessing 40% of participants are female.
I know what's going to come of this; someone's going to say "if you want change join the Jam committee" How about we take polls and see what the majority thinks? After all, the people that attend make Jam right? The points above are not just my own but what I consistently heard throughout the weekend.

I just want to start off by saying a big Thanks to those who organized this and took time out of their lives to get all of this prepared, I can only imagine how much work went into it!!!! So thanks to everyone involved!!!!!
My only real thoughts on Jam:
I definitely agree on the trail and camp only option. I know that as part of the deal at Fox Mountain they are making money off doing the food for the event. I am not trying to be negative but waiting in line for that long for food doesn't make much sense, that and not much of an option for food choices. So its kind of disappointing that we are forced to pay the price for food when we don't really eat it. I loved Jam and yes I would still pay the price to go, but thats me. However I do feel the food option should really be figured out, It is pretty much the biggest thing besides the late night mud pit that I heard people not liking while at Jam.

where did yo here the Jamboree Makes Money?? we break even every year. Leaving what we started with in the pot! the difference in what it costs us and what we charge covers the costs for guides, and sponsors ect.
lower feild will not happen, upper field is our spot.. those who choose to get a serviced lot or cabin want the comforts!
As for t-shirts we tried ladies t-shirts last year and got nothing but complaints about sizing. So we squashed it!
Keep the comments coming, we take all of them into consideration.
And we are always ready to accept help. But also have a hard time finding it when we need it.
Thanks agian everyone for a great event!

In conversations I heard that the camping and getting the location is somehow tied up into the food.
This is not a dig on food quality, but on cost. I use my camper, and don't want to pay what seems a premium price for low cost food, that I don't eat. I recognize the need to provide meals, and simply wish to be able to decline a meal package. I heard this isn't possible with the current structure of how the campground gets paid.
I'm more than willing to pay full cost for camper services to offset the difference.
I guess i'm suggesting seperate billing packages.
1.Jam 2.Camping 3.Food
If you need to choose your package during registration, then the organizers will have their $#'s to go forward just like it is now.
But I also heard the entire food thing was totally inflexable and a bunch of people stayed home out of frustration from trying to make changes, of the type I'd like to see. Which I found dissapointing and makes me think nothing will change next year, pretty much making a price increase inevitable. i think this will make for a much lower turnout.
Love the Jam, had a great time......hope y'all find those suggestions helpful.

I would imagine if we did a food exempt rate then those of us who want to have meals prepared for us would be paying more ? The more meals the cheaper the cost ?

i think the camping is somehow paid out of the meals, so opting out of the food leaves the campground unpaid. something like that, hard to understand, and possibly none of my business. lol

where did yo here the Jamboree Makes Money?? we break even every year. Well, I must have misunderstood. I remember at each AGM hearing that Jam made $3-$5K... and this year trail guide passengers were charged (removed at the request of Jam committee member), the "break even cost". Where's the difference going if jam's just breaking even each year? Perhaps showing us the breakdown of camping/ food/ t-shirt/ tent/ etc would help us understand the cost. Also, this might be a sensitive topic, but how many free passes are given out to sponsors? I had to guide to be able to afford to go, but I heard lots of people saying they got free passes that had SFA to do with the sponsors. Is that fair? I would think that the cost of those passes are being carried by other participants. The prizes aren't really free if that's the case. I don't mean to stir up controversy or seem un-apressiative... but I have also heard of people not attending due to cost, and would like to throw out ideas to help this situation... or at least understand why.
