If I list everyone who stopped, I'll be here all nite! ;D
My friggin pickup spit out the front wheel bearings going up Grand Pre hill, I was extremely lucky to be going up a giant hill because I lost my brakes on account of the rotor being all leaned over.
You know the spot.....great view.....
I called Ray on the shoephone and got him to throw off a floor jack from the CVO convoy, and then I took off for Canadian Tire in New Minas in the LJ for new wheel bearings. Jack was there when I got back.
People are stopping every 10 minutes! I get most on the CB and tell them I have everything under control, thought I did.....but don't yet know the bearing race has welded itself to the spindle!!!
Next guy to stop is Bob Shay, who I don't think I've ever met face to face, but he knew me and flashed his trailguide shirt, said "wadda ya need!?"
So I says - "I need a friggin generator and an angle grinder and some cutting wheels and flap discs and a chisel!"
The classic "What's your board name?" gets asked, DieselFan, thats him! right right. "OK", he says, "I'll be back in a few minutes..."
And sure enough I didn't even has time to pack the new bearings before he was back with a 3500W generator and bunch of grinder stuff.
I didn't just make it home with the CJ on this repair...I went back to Fox Mountain and picked up my camper!
Keep on Truckin!!!!!! Rolled 300K! Hammer down! I 'cleaned out the carbon' next mile or so, just to treat 'er right.
So yeah, thank you to every single person that stopped! That's what this club is about! Not one single Jeep drove by me without stopping or calling me or talking on the CB! NOT ONE!
Special thanks to CVO Posse for the jack, and Bob Shay for the generator.
Maddog, GettinWiggy, Mike Burke crew, CVO Posse, Bill's APJ crew, Bob Shay, frig there were a couple of others, but I was kinda frantic and might have forgotten. Thanks to all!
