It's all done. Super happy with it. . Start construction next weekend Oh. And it is professional Jan ! You got the skills, man. I bet Jacob learned a lot too. I feel happy like you just had a baby. Can we smash a bottle on it, like a boat? ;D Hahahahaha. Thanks Jan. Ya. A bottle smashing is a great idea ! At the garage warming party !

That's looking excellent. Good thing I will be living staggering distance from the garage party spot. I am really happy for you man that you finally have your own garage. Nobody deserves one more than you do.

Well , what looked like bad luck on Thursday and Friday morning , turned into great luck ! The rain today was going cancel the pour of my slab , and the decision was made to pour Friday night , after much worrying about getting caught in the rain . I am glad we did ! A nice cool night last night and rain today , will allow the concrete to cure even and slow , ensuring a great garage pad ;D I have lots of pics , as always . I told Jacob " you can't take enough pics " lol They were all taken by him The guys from work , who donated their time to help me out . Huge thanks and promps out to them . They did an amazing job ! Pump showed up Huge light unit . We brought it over just incase Here we go ! Set a few piles in the middle , and used them as grades Started filling up the thickened edge , and used a vibrator to get the air out . Me right in the middle of it Wireless controls for the pump We had to put in a few more bricks , to hold up the wire mesh Catch Starting the top This is a really cool rig . It is a vibrating board , 10 ft wide run by a little whipper snipper motor First load is done . 12 yards ! This roller pushes down the stones We just had enough ! This is whats left over from 23.5 yards The guys were calling my dad ( left ) and Dave ( right , he is the boom truck operator ) Siscal and Ebert , the critics . But I think it was closer to the two old Muppet's , that sit in the bleachers , making fun of everyone ( I forget their names ) DONE !!!!! I am SUPER HAPPY how it turned out . We will get the lumber moved in next week and start building next weekend . Who`s in ?

Man that's nice. It looks perfect.
Great to have an employer let you use their gear, I'm not allowed to take a broken endmill out of the scrap bin!

awesome Scotty. lots of nice gear in the Ocean fleet. nice pumper too, 36m Z-boom? wish my bosses were that good to me. I asked them for a quote on concrete, and they only knocked off aqbout 5% from their "Joe Blow" customer price. fawkers. I know the guys I work with would work for free, but I know I'd never get as much help from the Rice's as you got from Ocean. you're lucky to work for a bunch like them.

I have been there 19 years , and have never thought the grass was greener on the other side , I have always been grateful , and they always lend you what you need My dad had been there almost 35 years and over 25 of them have been as head mechanic and now shop foreman

where are you getting your lumber ? If you are buying from Kent's or similar then Rona has a special on during the weekends only where they give you a gift certificate for every $100 spent - I think it was $100 for every $500, not sure about delivery but there may be enough guys with trucks
