Standing water doesn't last long on the heated concrete. Evaporates really quick.
A wide squeegie to push the major stuff out the door would do the trick.
Drains kinda suck anyway, they just get plugged, or can possibly contaminate your well.

I happen to find the drain very handy. Winter time after plowing the driveway with the 4 wheeler,,,it allows me to thaw it out in the garage and not have a huge puddle on the floor.
I just built my garage two summers ago,,,to code,,inspector made numberous visits during the construction and the drain was not an issue.
Only issue I have with it is in the dead of winter,,,it will draft in cold air. When Im not using it I block if with a bunch of rags.

If it's 4" you can get a spring loaded check valve that let's the water out but not the air in. I think mine came from Home Hardware. It's basically a rubber bung, the weight of the water opens it and the spring returns it. Have them in my basement.

I've been storing Scott's 15000' of lumber for a couple of years behind my garage. When we put it back there, we made a nice pad, steamrolled it, and covered it with plant waste. Its a great storage spot. I've never used it. ;D 'A few years' storage was the agreement for trading for the dirt. Its a few years later, and Scottie is back for his wood, just like he said. He managed to remove the 2nd story last night, and they will be coming over after work the next few nights for the ground level stuff. Ocean's new boom truck...she's a tight squeeze! Under the wires, between the trees, don't hit the garage with the stabilizer, don't drop wood on neighbor's barn, etc, etc. Old Pro. One of the 'critics' from the pouring day. One load down, 3 to go.

Look into protecting your sills from the inside Scott, with no floor drain means no slope towards the centre of your floor. When we park vehicles in over night (on the part with no drain) with snow and slush the heated floor will melt every bit by morning then there is a lake up against the walls and under our tool boxes. The water only evaporates after you squegee. You will love that floor choice all year around, they don't sweat in the summer way too easy to warm back up after opening and closing your door in the winter.
