Scott , check with your inspector before you start modifying your trusses . they have to be made with stamped lumber and you should have paper work for that , adding or subtracting can void engineer's stamp of approval . Just not nailing in the right places specified or not putting in strong backs where specified will give you a issues. I hear it's not looked at as seriously in HRM as we have it . Bruce's trusses are a little different than yours , if you see the way his ceiling is you can't build another wall on top of a wall with out a floor between , creates a shear point so then you have to do a bunch of technical stuff i won't get into . Your gable truss is built differently and won't be an issue ! Just to add , trusses are only strong on the downward not the side to side , while you are doing it block between the 2 center gable studs and tie it no the center's and run a board down the center upright one end to the other . also doing diagonal''s with boards will stiffen them up . Just my opinion though

Well no " sheathed " in roof this weekend , but its so close i can taste it lol Put in another ratchet strap , to pull in , straighten out , the short side walls Got the rest of the trusses in . braced , and properly spaced Also made the end staging 2X8 facia boards . We made some spacers from 2x4 and used them to space the trusses as we braced it and put on the facia boards . we will also use them as we go " sheathing " in the roof 15/32 nd OSB " super roof my ass ! that stuff is JUNK ! 5/8th T&G plywood baby ! 36 sheets of it . Its 3 X the Cash , but 100 X better ! Kent had the best price out there for it , I was surprised All on the Toyota too ! didn't even know it was back there . Nights this week , board in the end peaks , next weekend will be "sheathing " in the roof , and roofing shingles , Then its all down hill from there I had NSP come " scope " out my location , No cost ! But I have a bunch of trees to cut down , and my power will now be coming in on the back side of my house , and tying into the garage on the back side now . Way better !

We will be sheathing in the roof , putting on the Facia and soffit , putting on the house wrap etc . We are going to hire someone to put on the roofing shingles . By the end of the weekend we should be on the downward slope of completion

We are going to hire someone to put on the roofing shingles . Really? What's your reason for that? Roofing it would be about the only part I would have a clue at doing properly. lol! Just surprised for all the work you've done yourself. Bill
