well with the buggy being lower and longer my crappy link mounts hanging below the frame have become a real problem.... heres what they look like they hang below the frame about 2.5" and so do the links. wasn't a good idea ;D always bending links..... this one is 1.25" sched 80 with 1x1 1/4" wall angle iron welded fully along the bottom. start of a new link. 1.25" sched 80 in place, just need to put some tabs on the lower to mount the upper to. other side and off with the old bracket ;D lots of clearance now, and smooth ;D you can see the other side from this shot. huge improvement.

Looks better as far as not getting hung up.
Single shear with bolt thru the frame? Did you sleeve it, or make a bracket to grab the other side of the bolt? I've never seen a 3/4" bolt break, but its nice to have double shear for the sake of an extra bracket.
Hopefully it climbs as well as it did. Big geometery change with the shorter, higher radius arm.

the arms are still 25" so there not too short....
the bolt is in single shear, the frame is plated with 3/8" plate on both sides, no sleeve. if it keeps coming loose i'll put another piece on it to make it a double shear. i'm not worried about a 3/4" grade 8 bolt breaking, the only problem that might occur will be the bolt coming loose
i made th eupper link in a seperate piece on it this time so i can ajust the pinion angle, i rolled the pinion down a bit to try and help it steer better.

it keep evolving towards one of those hill-climbing dirt-bikes with the huge trailing arm rear suspension. shorter front, loooonger back.....looking 'cab forward' now. Defenetly different, and best thing is...is that it is the cheapest yet one of the most cabable.
Looks great!

she is pretty stable now.... it really is amazing how stable it is. i was very impressed last time out.
as for the looooong rear look, i don't like it, i like the wheel base, but i don't like to look of it. going to put new body skins on it that go back and have a wheel well on them to close the back in a bit. hoping that will help the look of it. been thinking about moving the rear axle forward too. i think its a bit too long for only 37" tires. i like it at times but it has problems in the high center areas....
