I have one I got from Bill, been at least 2 or 3 years now, and I think it has come close to justifying itself. Pretty close anyway. Have used it a lot. It is great around things you want to heat up without flame, frees brake line fittings off the brake lines,(Don't try brake lines with the system closed. ) wheel nuts, around aluminum castings you might melt with a torch, a lot of small things before I got the small torch set, Heating up bearings for a press fit so there is no flame on the seals. There are many places on an engine you could use it where a torch would just melt sensors and wiring, or if you have a fuel leak. I have even used it on seized plumbing in the house so did not have to use a propane torch with the risk of a fire. I would like to try to silver solder or just regular solder with it. It can heat a small nut cherry red, so should be able to. Probably could induction harden the tip of a centre punch or cold chisel. A lot of uses. Think we could come up with 1001 uses?

I don't deny in the least that it is a super useful tool! I just hardly make use of the set of torches I have even. I've been doing less and less fixing/fabricating of stuff lately; that may change here shortly though and maybe - MAYBE I'll be able to justify it...
It's worth half the price for Awesomeness alone!
