yeah, well the cut is healed.. I still can't feel my pinky and the bottom part of my hand, if it comes back the OT figures it'll be a year or so.. takes time to regain the sensation after you cut a nerve. until then I just have to be super carefull when using my left hand. It still works so I'm happy. lol
Got both subframe stiffeners completed and mounted last night and the night before. Tacked in, it was really late and I didn't have time to finish welding.. hopefully tonight I can get them welded in and get the back end of the frame capped so I can call that part done. Then I can pull the rear axle and rebuild it(regear and build permanent truss).. then remount it for the last time...

Here's a quick shots from today's parts haul. I got my rear EBC Sportline rotors, EBC Green Stuff pads, Smittybilt Hawse fairlead, and after work I picked up a 100ft chunk of Synthetic with The Thimple and hook on it for the X20 ![](http://a3.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/s720x720/320556_10150381673875777_536960776_8868358_357234928_n.jpg) I also checked around Moncton for some UMHW to make some good light weight skids out of, damn it's not cheap.... 4x8ft 1/2" is 489$ a sheet and 4x8ft 3/8" is 372$. I might go that route anyways to save some weight.

Nice!!
Yes the UMHW is nice and light, but if you were resting on a rock would you think it may bend and push stuff up??
Also being that you have a little high COG, weight underneath wouldn't be a bad thing would it??
Cheers! Jeff

x2 on what jeff said.. the liberty's r top heavy and u would think some extra weight on the bottom might help.were u have alot of extra height??

If I go the UMHW way It'll have a really heavy duty frame work to support it so it won't bend, It'll more than likely end up being steel. I'm not worried about being top heavy, It was really apparent when it was @ stock height due to the soft springs but this thing is riding on some pretty Heavy spring rates now.

Got the steering all welded in and new raised motormount on the drivers side. Almost done the passenger side(was 3AM so time to come in. lol) and the front axle all squared up. I ended up using a WJ steering box for a better fit. Seems I've gone completly different direction then the other SAS Libbys in the US. I just didn't like the way the ford E350 box fit(same as an astro van box). Just seems the draglink had too much misalignment sitting at ride and it would if either binded or wore out the TREs prematrely IMHO. So I redid the steering in about 3 different configurations until I was happy with it. I think the WJ box is a better fit the way it all seems. Its definately more work to make it fit. Used a XJ drop or ZJ pitman arm (4" drop) and over the top Tie Rod conversion and the drag link is in line with the Tie Rod. I'm going to try a stock YJ pitman arm(2" drop) to see if I can get a bit better angle so I can match up the trackbar and have good clearance for it. I'm trying to keep it as low as possible and still fit 35s. Looks like It'll have about 4 to 5" of up travel(allowed cause of the new high clearance motor mounts.) Anyway here are some pics. This is definately slow process but I don't rush this kind of stuff and it really is a figure out as you go since I didnt follow any of the steps the other Sassed Libbys have done. Next step is finishing the passeger side(hopefully tonight), then find a new location and mount for the Coilovers. Anyway here are some pics. ![](http://img804.imageshack.us/img804/3592/steeringmockup012medium.jpg) a pic from outside the rig when I was finish welding it together. ![](http://img39.imageshack.us/img39/4658/steeringmockup013medium.jpg) ![](http://img7.imageshack.us/img7/9607/steeringmockup014medium.jpg) Here I notched the stock UCA mount for the A arm so the steering shaft can cleanly mount to the box. Nothing structural for the frame so chop it. ![](http://img834.imageshack.us/img834/9950/steeringmockup019medium.jpg) steering box location. so holes are sleeved as not to crush the frame.. ![](http://img268.imageshack.us/img268/5528/steeringmockup022medium.jpg) ![](http://img696.imageshack.us/img696/9798/steeringmockup025medium.jpg) ![](http://img705.imageshack.us/img705/7721/steeringmockup026medium.jpg) Stitch welded onto the frame as well it's got the original K member bolts bolted in from the underside(more so to seal the holes lol) ![](http://img580.imageshack.us/img580/3120/steeringmockup028medium.jpg) steering box mounted ![](http://img28.imageshack.us/img28/3135/steeringmockup029medium.jpg) ![](http://img46.imageshack.us/img46/4880/steeringmockup031.jpg)
