That sounds so much like me. I procrastinated thinking the wiring would be so hard. Turns out I'd rather wired it 3 times vs. rebuilding the front housing, grease and gear oil suck!
I measured all my brake lines and picked them up at Napa premade, just had to bend them.
For gas line I used 5/16 steel tube, came in a roll at Home hardware, my only local hardware store. Bent that with the tubing bender too. I had some stainless I tried to use, and found it very hard to bend.
Those tabs look beefy now.

Been a while since we worked on the heepota. Been busy, cold and lazy so progress has been slow. Have slowly been gathering parts and what not for the future. I may post them up later or might keep it under my hat. Ended up getting some done today first time I worked on it in 09. Mike worked on the front axle (no pics) and I worked on this.....repair for a friend of the old man's. (Its the top half of a bolt on cattle box) Belongs to our butcher so = free meat. Then on to screwing around with some interference issues. The slave for the clutch has some interference issues with the stock S-10 exhaust manifold. Having the second 4.3 laying around pays off in dividends for parts. The Astro version has an exhaust manifold that dumps closer to the center. This will allow room for the air cylinder I'm using as a slave. By this time it was late we did some cyphering before heading in. But, I was full of Redbull and wanted to burn off my wings...... ;D I soon tired so I let the chain fall do the rest of the work... Back tire stufe in cut out fender. The back tire on the other side was no where close to getting light. So there's still some flex left to go..... Overall we were quite pleased with the potential flex. Edit: Math says I am ramping 1093 in the pics.

your tub is rotting again. lol You should see underneath of it! I'm convinced that we could coat that thing in 1/4" of grease and it would still rust in that garage Yeah, I did accomplish a bunch today, just noting pic worthy I guess. Mo had the knuckle ball gussets from Trail Gear, which of course had to be modded to fit on the axle. The spring perches on the YJ frame are about 2-3" wider than on the totyta frame, so of course the gussets interfered with them and had to be trimmed. I also made new steering stops as the old ones rusted away. None of this welded on the axle because I just don't trust that little mig for suspension parts. I have the option of the big MIG at my work, so we'll load both housings in the truck and spend a saturday welding it all together. to prove that I was doing something usefull and not just drinking these while Mo used up all his wire and cut-off discs on this But, none of that compares to the pimp flex pix ;D

Heres a question... When fabbing up the bracket for the slave does the plunger have to be parallel to the engine like the factory hydraulic bell housings are or can I orient it like this: this way it misses the exhaust and is more in line with the natural arc of the fork....any thoughts? It looks like it will work while lying under the jeep freezing on the concrete. You can see in the picture from Novak that the slave here has some side loading as its not perfectly straight out of the bore.....might not be the same as the slave is different from the pnumatic cylinder im using.....Im thinking i can align the cylinder to be more inline with the throw of the fork so the forces would be better when the slave is extended (clutch depressed) alignment isisn't as critical when the slave is compressed (clutch up) as it isint doing anything.

I'm just playing with ya. it looks great.
the air cylinder would not want any side load on the shaft. orientation doesn't matter. (i can't see your pics while at work here.)_

ya im not worried about side loading i don't think it would be enough to mess up the cylinder (it's not out of alignment as it would be if it were parallel to the crank. Mostly im trting to get it away from the exhaust....I may have to set it up as a pull slave to get it with no interference. I'lll have to see what paul hawkes did.....I know theres a ton of different exhaust manifolds for 4.3's might be that.

I took a few pics, all I trimmed was the unused threaded end of the slave. Mine's been going for 2 years with no problems, they were $30 when I first bought it then PA changed suppliers, they're $15 now. My plate is 1/4" angle, works great. I have the Astro manifolds. Not sure I can explain it, but you could put a big hole in your mounting plate and inset the slave, I thought about it. I threw a spare cylinder in the Jeeps tool box. As you can see I ran a breather from the unused hole.

Thanks for the pics and info Paul it totally helps me see that im just making it more complicated than it has to be.
Did you get a custom hydraulic line made or just brake line with the expansion coil on it somewhere....
I bouth 2 of the cylinders as well 15.99 each.....can't beat that....

Believe it or not the Jeepster came with the line, pretty sure it's just an 80's S10 stock line, that's what the master cylinder is from. It is sort of braided in the middle. (like park brake cables) One of the previous owners had a braided line as an extension but I didn't need it. It looks like there is an adapter on the slave end, I don't know if that's part of the s10 line or has been added. I think it's all standard thread, not metric or anything, because the hardware store brass fitting worked with the breather line. I was originally worried about that because the slave had metric markings on it.

tinkerbell express lol you guys weren't kidding about the handles, wow! Yeah, my mom did them for me She's got the fancy embroidery sewing machine. I keep bugging her to spring for the custom design software but she won't budge. Its limited to text and downloaded design packs. Nothing "jeepy" in the designs, but if you want kittens or snowmen, oh boy can I hook you up! ;D
