Made this cutting table out of scrap, to help me load heavy sheets of 1/4" on the machine without too much hassle. The grate was originally on the CNC table, but it sucked for that purpose. butts up under the rollers, for a controlled slide onto the water tray. Its pretty hard to load a 4'x4' sheet of 1/4" by yourself, without smashing the machine. So then i was like...Hmmm....looks like that big stupid steel shower tub I've been saving will go under there. Yep! Remove the cutting grill, and have a big parts washing tray. You could put an engine in there. I've been leaving it like this under the cutting grate, the lip actually catches all the sparks, none hit the floor. Pretty cool, can't say I planned it that way.

that 1/2" cut is impressive - how come the grate wasn't working out ? the circular patterns look like a stove heater coil ?

that 1/2" cut is impressive - how come the grate wasn't working out ? the circular patterns look like a stove heater coil ? Grate was for cutting dry, no water table. The little points made the parts tip up and snag the torch too Twirly parts are not a stove element, that wouldn't be safe. Lol

Yep. Couple of parts for a safe. twirly things are guideways for lock, will have linear slides attached for pins.

That answer was hardly worth a prize, there were plenty of clues...
Good to see you getting some jobs from other walks of life. Those 1/2" cuts look pretty clean. Hopefully I'll get to pop by the shop next summer for a visit. If I do, I'll be sure to bring something to get zapped.

I just did a job in 1/2" that would have been good to have done on your table, plates for a back hoe thumb. I did discover my little 380 can cut 1/2 quite nicely though, just slow.
