something like a garage i'd just run a bead of paintable caulk on all the inside corners and not go to the hassle of taping them up.

at this point, i just want to get the last main piece up and 2 or 3 small filler pieces to finish off the garage and pick up all this SH*T off the floor! There's cupcakes, cardboard, plastic, pop cans, everything you can imagine strewn about the place.
i managed to have about 4 or 5 full pieces of drywall left over. my calculations told me i needed 29.16 sheets so i bought 30. not quite sure how that happened. I'll keep them for when i get angry and start punching holes in the drywall when my skid plate bolts wont come out.
Thank you for the suggestions though! I'll consider them once the feeling of "holy F*cking F*ck, shit I just want to finish this" has passed and I am interested in it again.
until then, heat, beat and repeat! <- feel free to use that quote at your own discretion, just be careful of the context in which you use it.

Actually this has been running through my mind. sound deadening my Air compressor... any thoughts? I was thinking of building a box and using left over insulation, I understand the compressor needs to "inhale" and "exhale" My thoughts, tho slightly elaborate: build one small box to fit reasonably well around the compressor but allow enough room for air movement. box slips over the top cover in insulation and/or that stick on sound deadener if it's cheap enough. cover with another larger box that slips over the top of that one. and makes them as one somehow. run an old junk hose off of a vacuum cleaner out the door for air supply/exhaust. move the regulator outside the box or just make an access door for adjustment when needed. it appears i am not alone: www.cianperez.com/Photo/Exposed/album_WoodWerx/Projects/Compressor_Enclosure/Pages/Compressor_Enclosure.htm

I was just going to suggest you google the idea of sound deadening the compressor. It's been done many many times before

sound deadening my Air compressor... any thoughts? Here is what I am building for 3 compressors: wooden box, two front doors. The back is an outside wall... it's VERY quiet even just doing the two front doors and top. Old packaging ends. And it's free, except for the silicone holding them on the wood. The old yellow insulation will be removed when I get time. edit- the design of the box was dictated by whatever scraps of lumber I could find here.

well the shop has had a couple years of solid use. here's what that looks like.. I have some mould happening, when you pull a vehicle in the water runs to either side of the shop. Pretty annoying.
Before I go foraying into trailer building land I am going to give the inside some love now that there isn't always a Jeep taking up space. Hopefully to remedy the water issue I am going to cut the rotten drywall out and run sheets of steel roofing as a "wainscoting" and caulk the bottom edge. I'll pull everything out including the bench and I should be able to pressure wash the floor after that and put down a nice floor coating, paint the walls so they are white again (lol) and spruce it up some. In the spring depending on other projects I've always wanted to add a piece on to the back as a space to have the work bench, keep the tools, compressor, cabinets, heat source etc. Basically leave the floor as the vehicles space. I have a platform built for holding junk at the moment, but I would tear it out and pop some holes in the ground and cement in some beams. That would gain me another 12x16 area which I would close in and insulate and then knock out an 8x8 section of the back wall of the garage to open it up.

When you're ready for the holes let me know, I can bring the fence post auger over (does a 8" hole I think?)

The plan for the water getting into the walls should work. I did it at my place, caulked the bottom with an 8" steel kickplate all around.

I started the clean up last night. You really don't realize how much junk you can accumulate until you start tossing it on the floor to go out for spring clean up. I don't remember how many empty 5L oil jugs I threw away, like what was I thinking?
