Loader plow Pickup plow. See the rubber mat ? It's to keep snow from going over the plow Tandem plow. Check out the pivot . It allows side motion Any questions. Need more pics ?

I see the pivot action on the tandem, and the stops. 10-4.
but the loader looks like the same thing I got going on. slop on the pin is the only pivot. Mind you by the time its measured out at the tip, it may be 6". (edit - on second loo, that thing is pivoting beck at the push plate of the loader, I was looking at the vertical pin more to the front. I see the pads for pivots now)
The pin in my design has a bit of slop, and the whole frame where it bolts to the chassis can slop too, and kind of ride independantly of the Jeep. That will help the blade pivot, too.
My trip design should be ok by those pics. hold blade up straight, with backstops. but allow it to fully flop forward against springs.
Stop by on the way home and have a look, Scott. I'm working, will be here till 6.

I figured out how to do a pivot without mangling everything.
Cut off the nose piece of the frame, box the end. box the back of the nose, and have a big pin there, like the tandem and loader. make tilt stops and push pads like those in the pic.
redesigned the plow in my head...I hadn't started too much, but it wouldn't have worked to good. had 2x6" c-channel for a base. would have been ugly and overly heavy.

I have made a few versions for my jeep over the years, you are going to have trouble lifting the blade because of the high pivot mount, in relation to the winch line. I broke cables and such from the force. Unless you made some type of A frame with a block to pull up on the blade? Nice angleing thingy

maybe a hole under the winch to pick up the frame vertically, straight pull to the drum.

looks very nice!!
heads up...my buddy copyed my ATV plow (warn provantage fron mount), but he did not put on "stops" to prevent him from running over his plow. plow digs in.. winch cable breaks..and plow will ride under his machine.....safey chain?? he is working on it !!
this may not be an issue for you with the weight of a jeep....but it sure would suck to find out the hard way.

I put a chain on each side to limit blade trip just in case it dug in . Most truck blades just the cutting edge trips so as you go over the object it comes back out easily . My plow doesn't turn but it will raise on either side about 4" and have had no issues with digging in accept for one rock in our driveway i have to be careful of.

I'll make a trip stop. I've seen some with a spring trapped by a sliding bar.
Allen - yours got a pivot? how much does it flop up/down on the ends?

www.curtisindustries.net/parts-lookup/ Here's a link to the breakdown for the plows we sell at work. Click on the Part Smart link and you will get a breakdown on there design's. Not sure what was messed up on the other link? It worked fine the first time then died.
