Have you painted it? I know you hate painting... but;

Needs one more day of work, over the weekend. Got trip spring bolts to gear up, then just the winch pick-up point and its ready. oh, and paint.
I think we'll get rained out this time anyway.

made a lift point for the winch on the frame, and made 1.25" pins for the pivot and angle adjustment pin. the adjustable one has the big ring for putting the boots to. blade trip all set up, and the sliding feet things down there to hold it up. they are adjustable for height. Got 'em off Scott, thx man. adjusters are 1/2" B7 rod fine thread. springs are from Action Truck Cap, don't know what brand plow. $37+tax each, but it took a few tries around burnside to find some, so i bought them. now i just gotta put it on the Jeep and drop the winch cable down. might have to frig with the cable tho, may put a short strap on the drum instead of cable. or someone's busted rope...?

That looks awesome Jan. I've seen a LOT of manufactured plows, not many of them were even close to being that stout.
one thing though, having your pads back that far may cause problems, although I'm uncertain. the blade may try to dive, since the pads are so far back. I'd have put them as far forward as I could.

normally they are as close to the cutting edge as they can get, but that being behind the trip, might work just fine. only one way to find out :-)
nice work as always jan

the pads are farther back because its a plow trip, not a blade trip. They are as far ahead as they can go.
you are probably used to seeing the feet right on the plow, right? That's 'trip edge' style.
If i put the feet more forward, they'd be mounted on the blade, which would have the feet flip up into the air when the BLADE trips, the whole frame would lower into the ground wreaking havoc.
Funny neighbor was over making fun last night - he does my plowing - he left me a couple of spots last storm to try it out, now its just gross slush.
Told me he wasn't going to keep doing a half arse job and to hurry up and finish my plow. Makes him look bad. ;D

the snow bears, and the old western i had, used the shoes on the mouldboard, and they are both full trip plows. but, i haven't looked at any other full trips to see.
i don't have any on my snowbear, and haven't hand any issues yet. our old fishers with the trip edge are much worse without shoes when it's soft. but weight could be the difference.

Never seen shoes anywhere but close to the blade, mounted to it, but that doesn't mean yours won't work just fine.
If you ever pick up a small dozer without a blade, you're all set!
