I'm not debating that changing the shoe would make no difference in what is wrong. You've apparently got that covered. I'm only offering up what could "ALSO be of benefit" to the design. I don't know shit about snowplows. But I do know that a rounded edge is much less likely to snag on uneven ground. You have a dirt/gravel driveway. What gets me is the dismissive reply... "the error is in the mounting" and "...and that is the problem. Not the shape of the foot.", as though to preclude any further conversation on the matter.

Bill must have been busy jabbing needles in a 1/25 Voodoo CJ5 all afternoon. ;D Puttin' it in the freezer an stuff. Found a bunch of frost plugs on the ground under the CJ5 when I went to put antifreeze in it. It was low yesterday....picked up some antifreeze today......it went in the rad and out the block and heads. Must have not had enough antifreeze in it since I fixed the rad after VC. Sucks. Its fawked. No plowin' for me.

Well that sucks Jan. Really really sucks!!!! Maybe a Silver lining to that is that now you can go pick up one of those Merlin's that are on Kijiji in Moncton.

That does suck... Sorry to hear, but I already donated to your 360 pile years in advance Know if it was just frost plugs popping out, or cracks or both? Bill

They must have been there b4 I drove it up the pit. it overheated and wouldn't start up there. Then i got it running and back home, it had no coolant. it was steamy all around the motor, i thought it was rain frying off. found the frost plugs on the ground next day, shorty after discovering the open loop coolant system. All I can say good is that it wasn't billowing steam out the exaust.

Better have a good look at the side of the block and ck your oil and see if there's water in it.The block usually cracks before it pops out the frost plugs.

AMC blocks are quite strong though, lots of nickle in them. If you can get at all the plugs that are out, I'd put them back in and see what happens.

I am willing to bet it's just the plugs popped, I agree with Alan, they are stout, worth trying another set, depending on what ones, it might be easy.

Memory is foggy... there's a couple inside the bellhousing on either side of the back cam plug too isn't there? Might be just as easy to pull the motor just to be able to easily access them all. If they're not popped, could have moved and be leaking in the near future.

Yeah, I'm thinking pull the motor and do them all. jeez.
This is a job for my bro Alan, I should give it back to him again.
"This motor (you put in, 5 years ago) leaks water out the side" ;D

Load the CJ on the trailer and bring it down , it would be alot easier doing it inside , on level ground
