So it's almost that time of year again. After my 1st season of plowing some repairs/ updates were in order. It became apparent in a hurry that the shoes can't be set too high, or the post will hook the blade when the trip edge trips. After some carefully calculated application of my precision adjusting tool the gap was significantly reduced. She's a little rough and rusty, so I decided to skin it with puck board, instead of re-skinning her. Here's before. I applied a good coat of fluid film 1st Ratchet straps to try and hold the curve. I still ended up getting the neighbor to come over and drive his knee into it while I fastened it. Done! Cheaters installed. Had them last year, but never installed. More to come later.

LOL, yeah shines 'er right up. I'm thinking it'll make quite a difference in how the snow rolls off it on a straight push and how it slides off when angled.

Ok, so I was gonna move the lift chain mount ahead, but I'm looking at it and I'm not sure it would be better. Yes, it would decrease leverage, but it would also decrease the cable angle, wich I'm thinking would be bad. Know what I mean? Here's what it looks like now; The chain sometimes interfears with the pull pin for angling, so it's probably best to move it anyway, but I'm still wanting to hear opinions about it's location.

Looks optimum to me. Make it mount different to get it out of the way of the pin. My 4 wheeler is the same way, both in leverage and attachment point in the way. 10 minutes would fix mine, maybe next year.

Better view The pin's directly under the D ring. Damn, I wish I had microsoft paint on this computer... I've got an idea, but can't really explain it.

Ok, in this pic you can see a little better. Sometimes I can't pull the pin up because the chain's in the way, or the chain actually pulls the pin out when raising the blade.

Move the chain further out on the A frame, just enough to get it out of your way. My 2K winch struggles with the plow, but it's a POS. Your winch won't be overworked at all, even if you hooked it to the blade itself.

Oh boy it's that time of year It's the first time in 15 yrs I didn't have the blade on long before the snow arrived. It took about an hour to bolt up the lift frame, run the power wire and choke cable release. Took 4 min to hook up the blade once that was done. Truck is in the garage charging up the battery as I type. Why does it take so much longer to charge up a 6 volt battery? X 5 just get rid of the chains. Remember if your only doing your own driveway the set up does not need to be super fast.
