Does any body know how far back you can get on the Lewis Bay West Road. I am looking to do an ATV trip up there in June. I think it used to go quite a ways back but not sure what shape it is in these days.

Well hmmm. how about this. I'm staying around victoria bridge...well just past there on the gravel road a bit. I have stayed many times and roamed around on the gravel roads with the ATV but I was hoping to take a day trip with 3-4 bikes. Was orrigionally looking at going up Lewis Bat West road and seeing if there is a way into Lewis Bay West and making a circle back down through Grand Mira North Road. Any thoughts on this or other ideas?
Was also looking at trying to get out to Goose Lake off an old logging road which turns down off Grand Mira North Road around MacMullin Lake.

Ha, BA is friends with the MacDonald's on the other side of Vic. Bridge. Their family land is over the bridge, and everything on the left up the dirt road to the big place overlooking the small bay. Island Well Driller's and teachers. I'll be out there over the summer, find a trail so I can run it too. ;D

We are just up the road a bit from there on Maceachern Road ... 5 mins from the bridge on the gravel road... if that. Just spent the weekend there actually... although it was cold and raining for most of it.
My father in law grew up there...and the road I am asking about used to go all the way through at one time.... but that was long ago. We heard they may have changed something that could prevent getting across.

No-man's land out there, not much around except the sign that says the Counties change.
We saw an old barn that had 'Machine Shop' painted in Gaelic on it. Old!

Cool. I drove up there a bit on Friday but didnt have time to go all the way. We threw a line in a pond up there and pulled out a trout right away followed by about 5 chubs...which we threw back.
Apparently there was about 30 familys farms back there 60 years ago....all gone now.
We were going in early june... so I will let you know.
