Campground rules at the campground.
I applaude the trail leash rule, its new. First I heard of it.
Some people just don't like dogs, and some kids are scared of them, and some people have no control off-leash and let them roam, while some are trained most excellent and controlled. Property owners get a pass? lol
This is why I downsized from Doberman to MinPin, so I can bring her places and still be able to just throw her in a crate if problems arise.
Good work Jam committee.

Shaun and Jenny had heff there last year. Dont know why it would be a problem, other then ya, keeping them leashed at the camp ground. As Tracey said, we had Heff there last year and he will return again this year as my co-pilot. He was always on a leash and when in close contact with others he was also muzzled due to the fact that he was not used to large amounts of people in a small area. And the best thing was nobody ever tried to take my trail lunch from me as long as Heffy was sitting next to it.

Not to forget that some people are also allergic to dogs Thanks for being considerate.
PS: Stupidity can not be cured but it can be numbed with a 2X4.

You guys handled that dog great, I could tell you were 'on it' the whole time.

If I might mention something about this - most dogs aren't used to being in the woods and while they will enjoy the new scents I am sure, porcupines are a major hazard to them and dogs unfamiliar with them can be seriously hurt - skunks are more nocturnal and more rare to come across

happened to a hunting buddy of mine, great choc. lab - actually jumped on a porcupine and tried to take a bite out - $3000 later they both learned a painful lesson

We walk Moose in the woods every day and he has had a couple of close calls to be sure. He runs around a lot in the woods, but when he can see the truck/Jeep, he never strays too far (abandoned rescue dog, never wants to be where his ride is not... Unless it is in the garage, then he is out and about.) But I have never had him in the woods with a vehicle, so who knows, it could be a real shit show.
I am on two minds at this point to bring him or not, if I can make it to Jam at all. He would be definately leashed at all times and under control. It's only right.

Having a dog on the trail makes him exposed to a lot more ticks than if he just stayed at the campground or at home.

We did find a few ticks on Razor last year but I came fully equipped with a "Tick Pick" that I purchased at the vet clinic.

And yes just in case anyone was wondering, Len will be required to be on a leash as well and banned from the tent after hours!
