Well, I'm wheelin my little LJ at Jam this year.
I've owned it for...oh 5 years or so, paid off long ago, but I didn't want to wreck it wheeling, so I kept the mods to a bare minimum. We take it on vacation and fart around in the snow, very mild wheeler. It needs to remain reliable and smallish to stay acceptable on fuel for going to Cape Breton and stuff.
I'm going to armour it up some for Jam, and throw a few parts on it I've been collecting. And to show off some plasma table work that is one-of-a-kind for sure. You'll see what I mean....
Celtic swirls. These would have been carved in stone BC, and in illuminated manuscripts circa 700AD. Mostly as decorative borders, but it also represents pagean themes of worshipping the interlacings of nature. Irish monks used the ancient art in later Christian teachings to help convert the Celtic pageans.
Hours of drawing.....
fresh off the table, took about 1/2 hour.
tacked up
It kind of looks like outerspace to me sometimes. Gas clouds or something.
Or your Grannie's lacy doily, I dunno. Obviously if it smashes into a rock, its gonna bend. The mounts are not all full of holes.
Then I bent up some pipe into a grill hoop. It will save the rad in a roll. yeah yeah.....I'm not gonna roll it, but just in case, eh? ;D
Added a plate for winch hawse and put a zoomorphic dog over it for good luck. I like dogs. Look back at the first pic and find this dog.
Zoomorphics are animal creatures drawn in this style, carved in stone. You see 'em in tattoo's these days. But they are a bitch to do correctly to traditional methods, there is a method, everything must interlace. They aren't found alone like I have there, but what I'm doing insn't very traditional!
Bar over top protects the winch.
Its pretty light and tight to the rig. I don't like big gaudy stuff, so it was nice to make this to my own tastes.
Room for my 12K winch and swaybar in stock location.
tucked in and tight!
Far as I got tonight. (been working on this for a week)
Come check out the plasma table work for yourself at Jam, that's why I'm doing this, want to show off what is possible on my own Jeep. And I hope you enjoyed the little history lesson.
Gospel of Mark - eat it! ;D
Lots more to come as Jam gets closer!
