Nice barn, nice yard. The old parts barn is haggard! lol
And yeah, the old plow truck is looking fantastic! Love the graphics and booze barrells.

It is haggard for sure, but there was a method to the Maddness.
We had just finished putting an addition on the garage and I wanted a place to put extra parts and junk. DW said she knew where there was a building for free, so I hauled the old piece of crap home shoved it in the corner of the yard( where the new one now sits) and waited her out.
It took 6 yrs but she finally saw that it was to small for yard stuff, bikes, and parts. It still loooks like Shit, because I refused to side it to match the house( BC premium cedar is pricey) When she heard the deal on the new building she thought we should jump at it.
It took longer than I thought it would, but in the end, I'll end up with the sized building I wanted from the start, and now I'll side and roof the old Parts Palace for yard stuff. ;D I'll just use cheap siding and tuck the building away where it can't be seen.
The new one will hold the boat, Willys wagon, and the overland trailer comfortably.

I got the old Parts Palace back over in the corner. I think I'll strip the old siding off of it and single it to match the new building. The view from the driveway, things nicely tucked away.

yeah, slap some shingles on that little one and it will look fine. Yard looks great! Looks like that stuff has always been there, tucked away. Once the grass is up anyway.
So you'll be driving across the lawn to get to the shop?

No need to drive on the lawn. There is a lower driveway that comes in through the trees. That's how the old parts trucks got down there. I just couldn't bring the new building in there as it is only 14' wide in the path.

So now the reason I needed extra room in the garage is here. But first I had to tear out my benches and shelves. The new heat source. 950lbs of wood gasification magic. They burn off the exhaust gasses at 2000 *C making it 89% efficient And hopefully enough fuel for two years. I hope to have it all hooked up and test fired by Friday pm.

Well thankfully it has been a warm fall. I finally got all the yard work done, and jammed the building full. I still have room to make some racking for tires, but other than that, it's full. So at this point I have a question. A couple of people have told me that I should cover the windows to prevent the sun from coming in and warming up the building. They said the changes in temperatures caused by the sun on the cold metal, and no air flow is what causes the moisture problems in most storage buildings. Your thoughts The next sunny day I'll need to strip off some shingles and get the door flashing in place. It won't be to bad as this is Southern exposureand now that the ramp to it has settled I can safely work off of a ladder or set up a section of staging.

I didn't see the wood furnace install. How'd that work out? I built 4 years ago and put in a electric boiler (Hydra) and a Kerr TW2000. Although I love the furnace my system is not meant to work together and doesn't. If i put in all base board it would have worked better.

Working out great as far as heat goes, I've only burnt a little over 3/4 of a cord of hardwood, and 40 l of oil since mid Oct. Now on the shop side it sucks as I can't do any spray painting while with boiler is running

Maybe the question was lost among the pictures above. So I'll ask again.
