I'll work on this thread over next few days, lots of great pics! Off to a flying start - 7 years no lost time accident = free cooler from Pratt. ;D Auld's Cove BigStop for some lunch......sneak the camper into this little spot facing the water and you have a great view. Behind the garbage bins and diesel cardlock pumps. lol Just pull the blinds on the right side and you are golden. Canso Causeway in the distance there. Drop camper out Mira at BA's relatives....head into brother Al's for a beer......no better time/place on this vacation to break down. Powersteering return line fitting fails and barfs all over the driveway. Panic ensues.....hit the forum for advice and figure out an easy repair. Relax and get loaded! It's a Jeep thing? I always drive around Sydney and take pics of steel plant as it gets cleaned up. Here is the (filled in and capped) tar ponds. Cool old train-car rotator.

Slag Mountain. That is all waste from the blast furnaces. Long boom excavators in the forground for doing the capping work. Derilect locomotive. DEVCO cabin car Dammed up and blocked off harbour enterance to the Tar Ponds. We hung around out Mira at BA's relatives, then headed up North. Here is the repaired Chev at the top of Smokey. Put 'er in 1st, and floor it! King of the Mountain! ;D Looking back on industrial Cape Breton. It was so clear we could see Pt. Aconi, the Radar Base, Membourtou, Lingan and wind farm, and New Waterford!! We got up into Ingonish and set up camp for a few days at Broad Cove. Its about $40/night for full hookups. This was on a Monday, we spent the weekend in Sydney. Figured the campgrounds would be less active thru the weekdays. Had our choice of spots.

Neil's Harbour on the 'Scenic Loop' above the Trail proper. Take the loop, not the Trail, if you want the best views in that area. Tasty Chowder House in this spot. White Point - great (short) hiking trails out to a point into Aspy Bay. easy walking flatbiller from the big city. I will attemp to get to the arrow if I can find the road. Looking from White Point to the shoreline of Aspy Bay. From all the positive comments on the pics, I was inspired to put a little effort into this and have labelled some pics. I want to get to that beach! Drive around some, see a road called 'Shore Road'. Lets try that? It goes from paved, to dirt, to trail, but OK for the 2wd truck. (camper is back at Ingo). Finally we see carved signs saying 'Beach---->' Cool. There is a little parking lot, but no beach in site. But there is this.... 1800's graves, in the middle of the woods. Then a 5 minute walk, and this!......score! Holy Frigholy! This is awesome! Um, not too many people! Its too big to walk it all! Looking North, there's that spot I'm looking for the road to again.

Thx everyone! More to come. It takes a hour or so to upload a bunch of pics and write a post. I'll make a post each day before work this week, with a geography quiz. I've been where no one has gone! And some history lessons too. Did you know there is an abandoned island north of Cape Breton with 2000+ people buried on it? The graveyard of St Lawrence Bay. Nice pics, reserved spots funny as hell and what a great idea! ;D Really diggin the plate on the front of Chevy too!You made I'm sure? I wanted the pics to all be above any comments. Saw it on pirate. Ya, the plate is steel and rusts, just like a Jeep. ;D I'll bang a few out for $20 if anyone wants one.
