Once Melanie and I get the "Adventure camper" built maybe we can do some trips together? That sounds like fun! Although we are probably annoying to travel with because we stop and take a lot of pics. NP when you are vacationing like that there is no rush

We're going back to CB in October for the Celtic Colours Festival if you happen to get it done before then.

We spent the day at West Mabou Beach today. Its not far from Margaree or Lake Ainslie. Few hiking trails and a parking lot for a camper if need be. 5-10 mins south of Mabou there's a rd to the right to West Mabou. Take that till the pavement runs out then about 2k later you'll see the sign for West Mabou Beach. Not very populated and a nice beach. Shallow and sandy. I know you'll bring your own food but the fish and chips at the Red Shoe is awesome in Mabou. So is the pulled pork/sweet potato poutine. They often have good local entertainment. Its worth a look if your in the area.

I LOVE CAPE BRETON!!!! ;D We had another amazing trip, hit a few different areas that we hadn't been yet and the beauty just leaves me in awe every time!! I can't wait to head back in the Fall for the Celtic Colours Festival This time, we spent our first night on the Margaree River, then we cut across to get some fishing in in the North River before we headed up and over Cape Smokey and the ol' girl (We named her "The Shady Lady", after a salmon fly) handled it like a boss, the 390 has a ton of power but I wasn't crazy about driving the outside lane in a top heavy camper..lol We made our way to Ingonish Harbour where we boondocked last time as we loved it so much the first time we stayed there again. We woke up and continued on to Neil's Harbour, White point and area, through Dingwall to Meat cove and then over the mountain to Pleasant Bay where we boondocked again for the night. The next morning we continued on stopping on Cheticamp Island for lunch then back to the Margaree for some more fishing before cruising to Inverness beach for the night...And then unfortunately we had to make our way home the next day...I'm sure Cindy will post a few more pics from the trip This ol' gem was found in Little Judique Ingonish Beach We met this gal between Cape North and Pleasant Bay... Note the water drooling out of her mouth... Between Dingwall and Neil's Harbour Cindy will upload some more I am sure...Again, I LOVE CAPE BRETON! ;D Cheers! Jeff

I love that spot with the pic of you and Cindy. It's really cool there, almost gives the spins.
Road to Meat Cove is fun, eh? Its almost like 4wheelin but the road is good.

Very nice guys, Your quality of photos is great.. you both have a great eye for scenery.. gonna have to talk to you guys about tying leaders etc.. I've been out of it for so long, I don't remember the special knots etc.. I LOVE fly fishing as the kids get older, I'm getting more and more time to get out and introduce them to it which is my favorite part. showing them Pics like these is a great example of the beauty in our area let alone the world and what you can find exploring etc.. Just get out there!

Just get out there! Thanks Reg! There are great websites for tying leader knots, like animatedknots.com. If you learn a perfection loop and blood knot, you're good to go, you just need some leader formulas to get started and there are lots of those on the web too. Getting your kids involved in fly fishing would be great for them. Some of Jeff's best memories are of fly fishing with his dad. If you haven't seen "A River Runs Through It", that's a must-see for any fly fisherman!

Tks Cindy, I'll have a look at those knots. Do you guys do the special knot for tying your hook too? you know to get the proper presentation? I forgot that one lol..
went fishing with my grandfather not long ago (and it's been a long time since I went out, used to go all the time Pre kids.. lol).. and he was making fun of me cause it was taking me so long to get my fly tied on my line lol..
Yeah my girls are only 7 and 8 and I just started bringing them fishing last year. We've been out a couple times, but only on bait and reel. It's the easiest. Get them hooked on catching, then they learn to appreciate just being out, then learn to fly fish I think.
River Runs through it is one of my top Favorties.. Love to find rivers like that around here. hehe.. I'm a small stream/narrow river/brook guy.. don't like big wide open spaces.. Half the enjoyment is getting there and enjoying what's around us.. I take memory snaps cause I suck with a camera. lol.
