Tow Rig Acquired: 2001 Chev 2500, Alberta truck New Tires New Brakes New Balljoints New Windshield 6.0L gas Got 11mpg on the way home from Alberta hauling a truck on a trailer and various other stuff Should be about perfect for us and hailing. Unfortunately I have to shorten the deck to clear a 5th wheel (or gooseneck) trailer as the frame had been extended 2ft to accommodate the deck.

You will like the 6.0L Andrew. My brother had the 6.0L extended cab for towing the racetruck and man does it haul sweet. That 6.0L had loads of bottom end torque and the hills didn't bother it one bit.

I think I saw you Saturday actually coming down on to Robie St as I was headed up on to the 102 - I had my orange net on the back covering a load of misc crap destined for McNutts

Yup... I got a glimpse of it as I was heading down the ramp. Too late to wave by then. Looks like the truck was a nice score.

It's from Alberta, Belonged to a construction company out there - it was in the brick laying division apparently (the saggy rear leaf springs tends to lead me to believe that too haha)
For the price I got it for I could throw a new engine in it tomorrow and still be ahead.

Looks like a great truck Love the flat bed ;D The sides fold down (and lock down) and the "double" headache rack you see, there are pockets at the back of the deck for the second one. There are also 3 large anchor rings down each side. I have a large net I threw over the racks and then just tossed a pile of old car parts in. I wove ratchet straps through the net and the anchor rings along the sides and another at the back to keep stuff from spilling out. The deck was very well thought out.

i bet you could fit your Lada on the back. That sounds to me like a challenge. This was a TERRIBLE IDEA LOL In front of my house there is a small hill. I thought it would be enough to put down a set of ramps and put the tractor up on back for a photo - Wrong. Not only was I wrong but after driving down over the edge I got out and watched the rear tire disappear into the sod... I tried once to drive out (RWD = no) then tried to pull it out... the poor old Ford didn't have the traction and then the clutch started slipping (ongoing issue to be addressed this winter) Sooo out came the track-loader: I finally relocated and successfully got the tractor up on the deck with no problems. Had I not been alone and had someone in the truck while pulling with the Ford I likely would have got it out no problem... alas I then spent 20 minutes filling ruts in my bloody front lawn... GREAT IDEA BRANDON!
