I actually just ordered the towers from Ford (shock towers for an F250 i think?) they were much cheaper than TMR, likely not as over built but should serve my purpose! I love TMR though. Thanks for the tip

I like to use shock pins you can get from CT 'help' crap display.
They can be cut to have a weld-on head.

Thanks for the tip I have those, although I cut a few inches out of them to accommodate the shocks I had. You won't hurt them. You will need to line them up with the shocks installed on the axle, if they're off a bit it shows in the upper mounting point.

I should probably be doing my taxes instead of posting these updates. I picked up some Bilstein 5100's from Kyle, didn't have much to do so I cleaned all the crud off them and hit them with some clear. I also finally got around to tidying up the 50feet of friggin' air hose that used to trip me up around the shop. Crappy had these on sale for 30 bucks, I figured it's time to splurge. I also up all my fittings to 3/8 and changed to the size up fitting and quick connect, not sure if those are considered 3/8 as well or not but it made a noticeable difference in the sound of the Impact. Then I started on my Metal Cloaks. Sand, Prime and Paint. It's a lot of f'in work! Let's watch some paint dry... I am going black on the flares and colour matching the fenders with the rest of the Jeep which is Patriot Blue. Bake at 575 for 15-20 minutes. Watch your shins! Throwing on the sloppy first coat For the Love of God Hillary do not open the garage Door! Oh and this. Lake on Old Sambro rd at Hillary's cousins new house, it was truly incredible. Taken with potato (blackberry) I'll get at the fenders today and hopefully be able to install them this week!

The time invested in proper sand, priming and painting will be well worth it! Unless that heater lights the jerry can with the open vent sitting next to it and the only door out of the garage is engulfed in an inferno... Jonathan

Nice fenders! Looking forward to seeing those installed with the size tires you run and small lift... cool!
ps. I'm betting the bumper sticker on your tool box attracts broken computers more than it repels! .
also: boom goes gas can.

hahaha good eye on the gas can guys, I should probably move it. There's no diesel in it, but I am sure there are some lingering fumes. I am having some disappointment with my paint, It's coming out decent but it doesn't seem to want to lay flat? does that make sense? It looks good, but you feel it and it feels like crap - not smooth at all. I am happy with what I have but is there a trick to this? I sanded the primer but should i be wet sanding before clear coating? If so, F*ck that because that's too much work for something that's going to be bounced off tress and intensely french kissed by branches. a little update! 2nd coat, I am terrfied at these turning out like crap. I've seen lots of guys just paint everything - black flares, fenders, inner fenders. But I wanted a more stock look with the blue fender and black flair to kind of take away from he extreme contrast in style. I hope it doesn't end up awkward looking.

If you put enough clear on them it will feel flat lol do u mean your getting bubbles in the paint or like a mist that dries bumpy? Because where your painting them and they are close together you could be gettin over spray on one then that will dry and be bumpy and flat looking. If they are big bumps it would be a form of contamination Also you can hit it with a red scotch pad to get rid of it and put another coat of color

If you are using actual base coat, it usually does dry to be kind of like primer in feel. It looks normal, good coat of clear should smooth and shine it up.
