Did someone say we had a weekend? It didn't feel like it! Friday night working until 1 or 2am Saturday working from 8am to 1 or 2 am. This computer guy just can't handle it, I can barely make a fist. Anyway enough of my whining. Here are some final pics of the fender and shock install. Good news, my shock tower extensions held up over and thru the topless run! ANNNNND DONE I should have disconnected my sway bar for these pics and having 4wd may have helped as well. Here are the marker lights (inside fender), kind of neat at night but I wish I could make them blink at the same time as the lights in the flares (front). The only way I could figure how to do it is to wire one as the blinker and one as the marker. I wish I could get them to work as parking/blinkers. Anyone have any ideas? In other words the flare light blinks, while the inner fender light stays solid if the lights are on. Only the flare blinks with the blinker. Thanks to all who helped either getting me parts or lending a hand!! Sorry DartJeep, It's the 8.8 and thanks for the reassurance on the paint! Next up is out boarding the rear shocks!!

Looking great Brandon and no rubbing on any of the flexing we the jeep did yesterday. Now you got to focus on the back right away. Aaron

Yes, that has taken top priority! haha
February -Install front Drive shaft -Fenders (Prep, paint, install) -Front shocks (add a little more to the top of the tower) <- Do when Fenders are off -Cut sway bars down (made for a 4" lift) -Spring Retainers -Trim a few spots for more droop
March -Remove Gas tank -Gas tank tuck -Move upper rear coil buckets to take the nasty bend out of my springs and to level out the Jeep -Trim rear track bar bracket on the axle to allow for a little more droop -Spring retainers -Outboard rear shocks -Cut sway bar down
April -Belly up
May -Recondition trailer for Jam, Needs a lot of love it's an old tent trailer converted to utility, needs inspection and registration plus some other work. I'd like to use it to haul my tires down and just be able to huck everything into it Sunday and leave not having to worry about getting it all back into the Jeep. Hoping to make it able to fit a truck cap from an s10 to keep things dry, we'll see.
-Wheels spacers 2" rear 1.5" front

In other words the flare light blinks, while the inner fender light stays solid if the lights are on. Only the flare blinks with the blinker. Trying to understand your setup from your description. You removed one set of standard blinkers/markers and replaced them with LED? or replaced all 4 with LED? There are a ton of writeups on how to to fix/ wire it properly....if that's what's going on. Both complicated and easy. If you have a set that isn't blinking at all...you wired something wrong. Should be a fast blink. Starting with easy.... I'm going to do this for the front signals/markers... www.jeepforum.com/forum/f9/turn-signal-relocation-418647/#post3772677plug and play, no LED. a little further in the thread someone shows how to properly notch the holes you make to fit the JK blinkers. These lights should have been in the grill in the first place....looks more like a Jeep. side markers.... www.quadratec.com/products/12525_6028.htmdon't order from Quadtratec, any local shop can get them. where you mount them is up to you....hood, fender flares...wherever fixing the fast blink... hard way... wiring two wire LED to three wire harness info www.jeepforum.com/forum/f9/led-turn-signal-installation-1081228/Read this anyway, lots of good info on wiring and the reason things work or don't work. easy way... www.stu-offroad.com/electrical/led1/led-6.htmOR you can replace your flasher module with a EP-26 that says LED compatible on it. BUT BE AWARE... in an 01-06 TJ, don't leave your blinker on and walk away as it will drain your battery. Available at Napa, etc. In short, if you just replaced one set of blinkers/markers with LED or even all four with LED, then they should still light up as markers and also blink (FAST). If not, then you've got it wired wrong. The trick is converting two wire LED lights to 3 wire.... the (hard way) link above shows why/how to do that.

Man, I worded that incredibly weird.
I have all 4 working, the front two are wired as blinkers only, the side two are wired as park lights only. I tried to wire it so that they all blink/run as park lights but when I did that, it seemed like the park light took over and they wouldn't blink. I'll read those threads, Thanks for posting!

Well I just called "the dealer"... 57 each for JK front signals. no thanks. So I'll be buying the 2" PA LEDS and doing the conversion two at a time. I see a lot less hassle just doing the front two, making them work properly first and then the sides. They come as two wire, have to convert to the Jeep 3 wire harness. (and apparently there is funky grounding issues in there. I'm going to put holes in my grill this week and do it....will document it in case you are still stuck. www.pirate4x4.com/forum/8345063-post53.htmledit. and Napa wants 20$ for the ep-26 LED flasher, special order. 2 days away

Much appreciated! I will call NAPA tomorow and place my order. This may be a silly question but I read all posts saying "tail light flasher" is there another location for the front signal relay flasher? or is the steering column the main relay for both front signals and rear?

Nope, one flasher. But a flasher isn't going to help incorrect wiring (no offence meant) it will just stop the fast blink, once you have it wired right.
Remember, when buying the flasher, make sure they get the one that says LED on it. If no LED, no good.
There is a cool mom and pop type of electronics store in burnside. I'm going to source the resistors and diodes there. I was hoping not to but the time x cost of making the LEDS work is still way less than buying non-LED JK signals. PA LEDS with grommet and wires are something like 8$ each.

correct, 1.25 body lift is all. +4 shocks which i am trying to work out the kinks in running those with no lift.
Thanks for the compliment!

and fyi jk turn lights are cheap if you get them at napa or car quest only $12 each sorry to hijack your build thread.... I'll continue this in my thread this weekend... It's relevant here now because it gives you an option over LED (for the front two) quickly and painlessly if you have issues with your current setup. I ordered a set of JK front signals from Napa today. Their cost is 22.00, retail 28.95 each. I will have them Thursday. The stock TJ front signals plug right into these, avoiding wiring trouble with that set of lights. You have to drill holes in your grill. big deal. End result, near plug and play, using existing harness and bulbs which you have spares of. and it looks more like a Jeep should. So, that leaves the LED side markers which you want to blink as blinkers and light up as markers. In your 02, which is different than a 97-00, you are going to have to use diodes/resistors to get them to do that and still use the ep-26 LED flasher as well. You can try just the flasher but ... anyway, don't throw the links I posted away. ;D ;D edit. just posting to give you options to make it legal, less hassle, quickly. if it's no help, or you are going with LEDS in front no matter what... then go for it. I hope it works out!

I took out my Lock-Right in the 8.8 and replaced it (Thanks for the help Bubba and Apesteguy!) with an Eaton E-locker (haven't wired it up yet) but I forgot how much more awesome it drove on the street with an open rear end.
MY biggest tip for anyone now, is if you daily drive your Jeep, select-able only in the rear. Sure lots of people run them in the rear "without issues" but it just doesn't drive the same ever again. Plus they are a huge PIA to remove the c-clips to pull the axles. That's my tip for the day.
Also, replaced my flasher with the ep-26 to slow down my lights. It's a very invasive blinker, AKA it's pretty loud. Easy swap though, now I can run some LEDS in the rear as well without worry.
Feeling pretty lazy this weekend but I plan to get a start on the outboard this week, I did not take into consideration the brake calipers on the 8.8 as the shocks will be running very close to the brake line, I'll have to do some thinking there.
