Last night I finally got the rear mounts all installed and the jeep is sitting on the new 1.25" body lift. I still need to fix the front mount under the driver's feet and remove the broken bolt from the front grill.
Start this tonight and we'll see how far I get. lol

I had some 4.75"x2"x1" alum milled out and drilled to make my 1" MML.
I picked up the coupling nuts and the bolts to put it all in. Need to take some measurements of driveline angles and location measurments first before I start removing/adding parts. When I take away that shovel of a skid plate I want to make sure I get it back in the original location, but up higher.
Start on it tonight. Aaron

I took a couple pics of the jeep with the 2.5" coils and the 1.5" bodylift. Here is a pic of the MML that I got made today and I picked up the coupling nuts with 10mm bolts as well. I also took a few pics first of undr the jeep so that you can see how much room \i have between the floor and the transmission before i put the MML in. MML all installed... Now I took measurements of my driveline angles before and after to see what the difference would be. Rear DS angle before MML = 17.5 Front DS angle before MML = 9.5 Oil Pan angle before MML = 6 Rear DS angle after MML = 16 Front DS angle after MML = 10 Oil Pan angle after MML = 8 Maybe tomorrow I will get a chance to start on engineering the transmission crossmember. I started the transmission crossmember and here is what I have so far... With the plate for mounting the tranny, I notched the bottom part of the crossmember to accomodate insetting the mounting plate and welding it all the way around. I still have to make a couple of gussets tonight and then weld the tabs onto the frame. I also wanted some clearance around the tcase and tranny so I didn't push it right up close to the floor. The crossmember will be at the bottom of the frame rails and should still clear a flat belly without issue. Making the template tonight to take and have the skid laser cut and bent for the weekend hopefully (as long as I get help with the CAD file first). Aaron

I had some big issue with my 100% flat belly on my jeep I hope your works out better thing my one Thing to look out for are First off front and drive shaft binding up big time at droop + like to short at full suspension flex 2 my short shifter hit the dash and could not get it in to 1 or 5 3 on the test drive i cracked the tranny were the mount bolts up to it By you do not have a racing shifter and jk arms and 3.25 of lift in it So best of luck I cut my off and order a belly up skid

I am more worried about the rear driveshaft and the fact that I need adjustable upper control arms to correct the pinion angle. Everything else so far seems to be OK. Will test it once I get the crossmember fully into place. Thanks for the heads up Aaron

I think i've read somewhere that you can grind down some of the double cardan to allow for more rotational space during flex.

I think Aaron you will be ok with a flat belly with short arms or a 1 inch drop skid and crossmember and I did not want to start grinding on my new tom woods drive shafts

I think i've read somewhere that you can grind down some of the double cardan to allow for more rotational space during flex. This is what I did to mine (xj sprung over in rear of YJ). I made a fully flat belly also, with one piece of 3/8" plate bolted directly to the frame. with the 1" or so of body- and motor mount-lift, I had enough room after a couple of small cuts to one of the body crossmembers. I also had to make a small extension to the tunnel where the d/c joint was. I saved a few hundred bucks and had a XJ shaft shortened. I rebuilt it after it was shortened, and when I tried to put it in, it was maxed out at ride height. I used a die grinder, and a 3" cutoff wheel and ground it out whereever anything came into contact with anything else. I didn't take more than 1/8" of material off from anywhere, and in many places, much less. Nnow I have another 4-6" of droop in the d-shaft, and it hasn't caused any problems, after putting a u-bolt-style yoke on in place of straps. I know things aren't the same between YJ's and TJ's, but I'm sure with similar modification, everything will work out just fine. If you don't have to cut the body or floor any, that's even better.

Nice work. Clean shop too. Thanks Jan and I don't have much choice in how clean the garage is, lol. The garage is part of the house and the wife parks the new car in there as well, so the whole family travels thru it multiple times a day. Don't need the kids getting into anything they shouldn't.
