My Dad digitized a bunch of his old pics and made a youtube channel. Check 'em out! Some stuff from the 70's and 80's.
They ain't no Dexter units, these are old workhorses pounding the roads for generations! Half those trucks are probably still on the roads down there. Check that awesome Autocar wrecker in some of the shots!
In the early years, My Dad owned mostly little gas Internationals, and the old Jimmy's got around because there was a limestone pit that closed down and the local guys bought up the fleet.
Hope you like it! I used to look thru those scrapbooks all the time as a kid. A lot of the shots are in my parents yard, I remember the age I was when he had certain trucks.
The smashed and painted Jimmy burned shorty after the paint job, that was a hard winter.
edit - and jeez, I forgot about the Fords burning. That looks like the Devco Wash Plant across from Bud's Speedway.
The little red Binder parked with the Uniroyal inflatable was a sweet little truck. That's why I like IH. That truck was around when I was 5,6,7,8 years old. I'd sit in it and blow the air horn, then get scared when the low air buzzer came on! ;D

Kudos to him on being technology savvy! I wish the rest of that generation was as willing to take the bull by the technological horns.

Excellent pic's I love the old r model Mack's ,Thanks for sharing Mick was driving the red one that's shown over the bank sideways. He was driving it for another guy (which he rarely did) and it had bad bogey rubbers....when the box got up, over she went. Just got a little knocked around, nothing big. I remember going out to look at it, I think I was around 10. Glad you guys like the pics.

Wow! That's one of the best old truck vids I've seen on youtube!..... and I think I've seen them all. Mick's got some great ol photo albums. Can't wait to see the next one! I remember going out to look at the ol R model after it was upset too. He told the owner the rear suspension was a mess and the truck was gonna tip over...... he didn't listen.

Great vid of the old stuff. A whole lot of "DOH!" in there!
If you run gear, bad things will eventually happen. Had a truck from Conrads pull the wires down at the jobsite yesterday (sorry Scotty!) We have had a few trucks and machines on their sides over the years.

I guess you got the off road bug from your Father. Haha
My Father was never a car guy, not like he had much choice having to buy a car to fit the 6 of us, but I always relate time frames to what vehicle he had at the time.
