For those running auto's is the kickdown really needed?
From my limited understanding on a TH350 you don't really need it in standard form.
And if I decide to go full manual valve body then there is no point in the kickdown at all.
And who is running a manual valve body? Standard or reverse pattern?

I would suggest a reverse VB. Cause you can go from 1st to rev easier without going through 2nd and 3rd. Thats what I am going to get done to mine.

Wouldn't a reverse VB only really be of most benefit when the VB was a manual? If you had an automatic VB and went from reverse to your highest gear ("D"), would you not still start off in 1st?

It changes the shift patern from prnd21 to prn12d And yes you still take off in first but with your shifter you dont have to move the shifter all through the other gears to get to n and r. Its designed for drag racers so all they do is keep pulling down and not geting into n and r.

I understand what a manual reverse VB does. I guess my question really comes down to, is an automatic reverse VB an option? And if it is, I guess I don't really see the point if you were going to make use of the automatic shifting while in "D". You'd still be able to have your quick reverse/1st(by way of D) shift.
If you were going with a manual VB, then yes... I can absolutely see the benefit of it also being a reverse VB and really, see no reason why you wouldn't do this.
