www.canadiantire.ca/AST/browse/6/Tools/WeldingSoldering/AccessoriesRodsWire/PRD~1991433P/Lincoln+Electric+MIG+Pak+140+Welder+Bonus+Kit.jsp?locale=enat first glance this was disguised as just the accessory pack, so I nearly missed it especially at $359 for a pair of gloves, a hammer and some soap stone. Truro Cdn Tire has 1 left, not sure about other locations. It's funny the exact same welder without the accessory pack is on sale for $499. Anyway I am super pumped, When I saw it I immediately called and confirmed stock then ran out of the office. My total tax in was $313 (used points as well) usually deals like this never pan out for me, I count this as a win. It's no miller, and has some plastic parts where they would normally be metal. But they are replaceable so i figured why not! save me from borrowing Apesteguy's all the time. What's a bottle lease cost?

What's a bottle lease cost? 65 or so for a big bottle or you can buy a 55 size bottle for $200 or so and it comes full of gas at praxair that's what I did that's as big as you need it's about 7 inch around and 27 inch high

Thanks Chris, Apesteguy has the same size. Can you not lease the little guys? I am not really sure the cost effectiveness of leasing compared to buying out.. some insight on that would be handy as well.

The little guy would be fine for hobby work. One of those would last me a couple of bumpers. Nice score on the welder. edit - the plastic drive wheels are not a problem, its just an internet complaint that gets around. There isn't a reliability problem. Just the old 'plastic vs steel' it might be an issue on an industrial machine. Please keep Fire safety in mind now that you have a giant spark machine in your shop. Do a prep job and remove flammables. Get an extinguisher and store it in an accessable location. Have fun - you just opened the door to unlimited possibilities.

I have the small bottle, never got that much use out of it. What is your regulator set to flow? But anyway - For Brandon's purposes, the little guy would be fine, i'm not disagreeing.

Payback was about 3 years buying vs leasing. About $250 to buy a full bottle.

thanks for the info guys!
I see a big bottle on kijiji for $150 that looks like a good deal, has around 500 views I am surprised no one has picked it up. anything I should be looking for? I don't want to find something that a place like praxair wont take because it's missing something.

Ya You are not allowed to fill it , if Its big , then its a leased bottle , he is not allowed to sell it , it will be taken from you . Pass on it

I am assuming they are dated and have a manufactures date stamp on it. Same as a propane tank. Once expired they probably wont fill it?
