Years ago, everything was up in the big field. The first year Big 6 and I had our camper, we were one of a very few who opted to get a serviced site. Now... we're all a bit more keen to have some creature comforts and the A field has a lot of people camping with serviced sites.
To those who are tenting though, remember that if you are occupying a serviced site, you must pay for that site! The general camping (up in the big field) is included in your registration though!

The tenting field is not the spot to bring the kiddies after dark though, with all the noises emanating therefrom as well as in the woods and from behind the Jeeps, where it is windy. There are also smells and sights that cannot be unsmelled or unseen.

For the general camping in the field, are we supposed to set up Thursday as well before we hit the trails Friday, or will there be time Friday to set up?

For the general camping in the field, are we supposed to set up Thursday as well before we hit the trails Friday, or will there be time Friday to set up? Friday morning is very busy. You need to get fed, get signed up for trails, line up rigs at 9, leave for trails 9:30ish. Its up to you if you can get a camp set up in that time. If you are late, you can just biff all your stuff in a pile, and set-up friday afternoon, once back from the trails. no biggy.

That was also very poorly written, you're not on the ball today!

I'm really looking forward to this. I've convinced my 13 year old son that he can miss 2 days of school and hopefully, he won't be scarred for life because of it. In 2006, we took him out of Sr. Kindergarten with a week of school left, drove across Canada and up into the NWT. His teacher was horrified because he would miss the last days of school with his classmates. Anyway, we plan on getting to Fox Mountain early in the day on Thursday.
