Ladies and gentlemen! Boys and girls! It's time to get out your Canadian flags, red and white hats, T-shirts, underwear (if you've got some those colors! ) and join the Valley Chapter Canada Day Run! This is always a popular event and usually has a relatively large turnout. We have our run, followed by an awesome BBQ. Most years in recent memory were sunny, warm days and we have no reason to expect anything different this year!
The trails we have chosen for this year are the Phinney/Chute roads just west of Bridgetown. Our meeting point will be the Bridgetown Esso/Tim Horton's parking lot. These trails are fun whether you're stock or modified, and the views of the Valley as you're coming down the side of the mountain are spectacular, as are the ones on the Bay of Fundy side.
That being said, the only question I had was should we do it on Canada Day proper (Monday), or should we do it on Sunday the 30th and let folks have their Monday off. I chatted with Alan about it and we concluded that maybe if we had it Sunday, it might be easier if some of you folks wanted to come from futher away than the Valley...and could free some folks up to take in some of your local Canada Day festivities on the day itself. We're only considering this because it falls on a long weekend this year, otherwise we'd definitely have it on the day itself. Either way, we'll go with the flow. If people absolutely want to do it on Monday, July 1st, then that's what we'll do...if Sunday is the more popular choice, then we'll do it Sunday...when you're playing with Jeeps, one day or the other is just as fun.
So for now, we're gonna throw it out to you to get some feedback. Please post your preference this week and we'll finalize the plans and departure times.
Let's get out and have fun with our Jeeps and celebrate our nation's birthday!
