Ya but some is cut off and then it's plated. I was wondering if the plate is fixing rot under the truss or if it was ok and the new piece is a plate like the tops.

The end of the housing was bad about 4" in , I had to remove the piece of truss and decided to plate most of the way in and then retruss . The tube i had was a little more square then the original but it will do .also added knuckle ball gussets . Bottom And re did the perches Added an upper truss Only thing left to do is reinforce the steering stops and shave the bottom , and polish the balls . tomorrow is another day

Looks good, I was also going to ask about the ball gussets, but there they are. Did you get the TrailGear one piece wipers? Mine are working great, not a drop, and the balls are rough.

thanks Mike . Yes , keeping the stock gears . Have 5.12s in the sammy axle and it turns into 8.50s with the 4.9 in the t case , i can't go over 80k on the road . Hopin the 4.10 will be ok for now . I have a chev 4.3 , a sm465 and plans for a dana 300 . going to change things up .
The balls were done with a sand roll , started with course ,med and then fine on a pencel grinder then finished with 400 grit by hand .

Looks killer, lots of work into those axles! They'll be killer under the Sammy. Just think how easy the next set will be!
