Took too long, start over. lol Nice to be able to use the professional gear and clean tube. Chassis is a bit different eh? the lower main tubes around the engine give a ton of room for fitting stuff. The slight kinks to turn the nose down will help visibility, I've found mine to be a bit long and hard to see out the front. I like the canted roofline from the side. I'm guessing the chassis is kinda small, and you needed headroom? Need some tires for scale to get a better feel for size, in later pics. What's the overall dims? height/length/width? Yeah chassis is a little different than most. I like trying new things with the chassis. The lower tube work is the same as Steve's chassis, I find with them this way , it gives u a ton of room for mounting things down low. The belly on this one is a little flatter on this on than Steve's, but I'm hopin to be able to mount the seats at 5" to 6" off the bottom of the chassis. This should give me around 5" of head room. I'm tryin to get the COG as low as I can with this one. Be cool if I could get it to do this. Over all dims are. 9' 6" long, 50" wide and 48"tall. The plan is to have the buggy 5'6" tall with a 18" belly clearance. That's the plan anyways....

how wide are the engine bay lowers? I had trouble there fitting the Toys/shocks. Can only make the lower shock mounts so far apart...

I'm not 100% sure how wide they are ..LOL, they just kinda got stuck there until I could get the engine in the chassis. I think that there is 17" between the tubes. I should have no issues with shock mounts. But I might have to widen them out a few inches, not sure I have the room to mount the alt. and power steering pump.

mines 28" to outside the pipe, shock gets tight to it. mount on axle is on top of knuckle ball small diameter, and shock is leaned in about 15deg. not much.
its about max width unless the shocks are straight up/down.

I've found mine to be a bit long and hard to see out the front. For tiny wheelers. By Recaro. Also available in BLUE

A little Toyota steering tech.... A Dirty30 has 37.5* of steering angle before the bell comes into contact with the axle shaft. A Toyota knuckle only has 28* of steering angle before the knuckle ball seals bottom at where the ball meets the axle housing. Now that just sucks!!!! LOL ( I have the Trail gear rubber knuckle seals, might get a bit more with the stock felts)
Need to figure out another way to seal the knuckle and get that other 9.5* of steering.

A little bit of an up date, been building pieces. Have the steering arms all made and mocked up on the buggy. Did a little figuring and built the arms with the proper Ackerman angle built into them. They look like I fawked up drilling the stud holes, because the holes aren't square with the arms. Still have to make the tabs for the 5 th stud, but I need to get the steering mocked up to see if it'll work behind the axle housing instead of out in front. Have the engine, tranny and t-case mounted. Ended up keep the old style tranny in it for now. It's 5" shorter than the newer style tranny and I want to keep my rear drive shaft as long as I can. Have the seat mounts mocked up, and the lower links tac together and in the buggy. Wheel base is goin to be right around 105" at ride height. Workin on gettin the upper links in place. Hopefully in another week I'll have a roller.

Started workin on the upper link mounts. Got the mount made on the housings. Made the mounts out of a piece of 2 x 3 x .125 box tubing, welded a good thick washer at the bolt hole for a little more meat in that area. Front mounts , had to keep them wide to get around the engine. Having the water pump so low on these engine is kinda a pain. I thought about havin to put a 3 link in the front, but I'm not a real big fan of them. Have room to mount the steering behind the axle ( woohoo).keeps it up out of the way and protected. Have the axle mount for the ram in place. Made the rear mounts the same as the front ones. Tryin to keep this buggy as lite as possable. Now just need to make the upper chassis mounts. There makin me think a little bit. With havin everything mount so low in the chassis, it makes it more difficult to make mounts.

Lookin good. the rear mounts seem easy enough. small plates on that triangle formed by the rear belly and crossmember, face mount some tabs. Or cope in some square tube like the other mounts, into the triangle hole. Make it just like the other mounts, open on one side. That would match, be neat looking, strong, and light. Hard to judge angles in the pics, the rears probably have too much angular seperation to do that. The UCA's are going to land out near the chassis corners? (the pointy part of the triangle hole)

Have the upper link mount done now and the links all made up. Rear Made the chassis mount with some adjustment so I could play with the anti squat Have the front mounts done too. Have the air shocks mounted. Had to mount the shocks almost straight up and down. Hopin the tires don't run to bad. Just have to get the rear shocks mounted and them I can flex it out a bit and see what interferes. Should have a Rollin chassis in another day or so.

rear frame uca's look good. can't see the hard ones on the front. Angular separation looks good on the front uppers. Will steering have a tie-rod knuckle to knuckle? Missing a hole on one steer arm....I guess you were just making sure the cylinder placement worked before finishing the arms.

Front upper chassis control arm mount. Nothin real special, but has a little bit of ajustment. There will be a tie rod across the arms with a SE ram. The hole are there, should of had the arms a little longer. It's lookin like I only need a 5" ram for the steering. Anymore and it'll mess up the ball seals. I guess it'll make the steering a little faster. LOL
