Scottie Rox productions is proud to present , A Garagemahal exclusive look at ........
My new Toy
I had been tossing the idea around for a while , of building a buggy , Always thought I would go 4.0 , auto , tons And of course Jeep looks
But part of me wanted super light weight , compact and most of all it had to fit on my trailer and I had to build it on a wicked tight budget
I ended up starting with the later
I picked up a cheap set of mostly wore out 38's , should be some room there to regroove them
After looking at it for a week ( not 2 kms up the road from me ) I finally bit the bullet and picked up this for $650
1987 toyota 4 cyl , 5spd
Beside the box sides and the fenders , its frig'N mint ! frame ,floors , rockers , doors and the interior looks like new
Yup the odometer works !
Hmmmm Truggy ?
Prob not !
Never seen one of these guys before
Top loader 21 sp
The good trans
The frig'n little thing runs wicked ,I drove it home , heck its still got a MVI . My Pops thinks its a shame , Says " wouldnt take much to make it a nice little DD " , But I told him I am not a member of the Toyota preservation society so Its gonna get stripped . It should give me most everything I need , An easy to wire engine , a good trans / T case , IFS front hubs for the solid front axle widening and a mid width rear axle . Just have to find another 21 spline top loader T case duel T case kit and a good solid , complete front toy axle , Then I can start my chassis
I gotta be honest , I don't have a fogiest about Toys ,( despite the " drunken Toyota Scott " night ) .
I spent most of my free time this past weekend reading the Pirate NOOB toy bible lol and checking out Trail Gear's site
I have lots of time , and not much money , so this could be a slow build
This is where I am as of today , Lets see where we end up
