What isit about the bumper that they won't insure it? They never said anything just "With that bumper we're not insuring it."

You need a new broker.

I would say you need a new broker as well, I was insured through Intact with the Liberty and they had no problems with mods. Even asked about adding a bumper and they said it wouldn't be a problem. Good luck on the search for insurance though.

If a new driver or high risk(accidents, fines etc) you will be be paying higher. Call other insurance places. Don't mention mods, most places don't look for piks. Good luck.

Don't mention mods, most places don't look for piks. Good luck. ^This, but if asked don't lie either...just do not surrender information they did not ask for.

Facility Insurance. Fawk 'em, you didn't get a new broker, did ya? I bet you bugged your parent's broker until they 'gave' you facility?
If you live at home, your (parent's) broker will require that everyone in the house is covered under their policy. So you are stuck with their broker unless you lie to another broker and say you live alone. Then you can get an individual policy with the new broker.
I had this problem with my wife when she was a new driver at 27. Didn't want her on my insurance, she was forced onto my policy unless she lied about living with me to a new broker.
Its a scam, as noted by your rate tripling. You bumper is perfectly legal.

Maybe you could 'rent' a room at a grandparent or sister/brother's place

Well i am on my own insurance and as far as they know im renting a house from my step-dad and live by myself. The only vehicle on my policy now is the jeep. Oh well i'll just have to not get in any accident or get any tickets and hope it goes down. On another note i've set a goal to make enough money to get new tires by the end of the month. Which are 31" kumoh mud terrains with mounting, balancing, new valve stems, and the special order is $1016.55 with taxes.

Glad to hear it. Paying sucks tho! lol Was this a new broker? Did you get stuck on the Facility expensive insurance because 'young male' or because of the bumper/lift, or both? Hell, they prob make every male under 27 or something take Facility.

get a different broker. no need to pay that much. I got my YJ when I was 19, and I paid like $650 for the year. They never asked about lift, I never told, and haven't had a claim yet. I'm not 25, my insurance for the YJ is $252 and the ZJ is $258

Unless you have full disclosure, don't expect them to cover you if you have an accident. I switched because I was told flat out by my insurance company that if I lifted the Jeep, they would drop coverage. So I called AA Munro and ended up going with facility myself. While it's slightly more expensive than I was paying, I have full disclosure with them. They know what I've got and I'm covered.
Check out AA Munro, they've got a few brokers in your neck of the woods, 20 in total around the province and they may be able to get you something that's not facility using one of their underwriters.
In any case, don't fool yourself and think that just because they didn't ask, they're obligated to cover you if your vehicle doesn't comply with their requirements for coverage. They'll take you to court if need be and they've got more money than the government. Good luck winning that one.

And finally a few pictures of my trip to capstick since I finally got internet up here. Its wireless rural broadband but meh it works lol. I also took the mudflaps off because thats what was cutting grooves into my tire and causing the nasty rubbing on the fenders lol. No more rubbing even at full stuff! Also put a antenna on my front bumper today in preparation for when i get my vhf
