That adds to the not stock friendly aspect of it. Probably still accessible from the "exit" though.

I thought it was getting turned into a wilderness zone or something.

I think that's somewhere in the future, I think the area is owned by a logging company.

yeah it was a log yard for a while. there r 2 real good trails gone. Irving Oil i think owns it. they block everything. we had a good spot here for yard sales, they saw it was been used. block it.

You guys run club runs thru there, and you don't know who owns it? Makes a good case for private owners putting up gates, eh? There was a thread saying breakline and some other NN trail were going to fall into the new wilderness zones when they were announced last year. Its public info on a gov't website somewhere. I'm pretty sure we posted maps and all kinds of info and it was a sure thing. Everyone forget? nsjc.proboards.com/thread/43908/trails-proposed-area-designation-changes Jan, I don't think it's a matter of not knowing who owns the land, it has just been probably 5 to 7 years since it has been looked at, I know that some of the older members (myself included) knows/knew who owned the land. 90% is Crown land and I had thought the entrance was owned by a logging company but I don't recall who now. As for the proposed wilderness area, it was only one small corner of the Brakeline trail that was affected but I figured a way around it using another trail. I believe with a little scouting that there are other ways in. The other option is like Brandon said, enter through the top side, come down the Brakeline and out via the Horse Pasture trail or vise versa. It would be my guess that the barricades have absolutely nothing to do with anyone wheeling in there. There has been a lot of shit dumped in there, there is always tons of clay skeets and shotgun shells all over the place. Jeff

Chain was across it today, I'll be in there tomorrow and have a look around for signs if I can... It is up for closure for sure, after they cut down the other side of the mountain, the small furry animals needed a place to live too. Jeff I think it's just a small part of the trail that will be left open on the wrong end though... it's a knock for my ATV tour business as well as a good part of the trail I run is in this new area... SUCKS HRAD...
