If the tire is stuffed it will hit the inside lip well before anything else though won't it?

It may.... And this is assuming he's doing it to the front 2. I thought I remember him saying tube/flat fenders?
I guess it all depends on tire width, rim offset, length of bumpstops, etc. That's just my reasoning behind why he did it. Maybe he'll chime in and will let us know the secret. LOL

Do you have a transmission jack ? They work great for gas tanks , skid plates etc

1.5 MML... cool i thought you could only get 1 inch . should be vibe free. i hope you can snap lots o pics of the gas tank lift. are you buying one or modify your stock on ? good luck. I can put in anything when your building it yourself , same as the gas tank tuck , I'll be doing the cutting / welding ........ Maybe you don't know me , But I am Scottie , and I do all my own work

Does trimming the fender flairs like that really have that much advantage where there is still an inside lip to hit/rub as well? I can see some trimming helping some for sure I can see it helping when the tire's stuffed and the wheel's turned. Look again , there is a huge amount of clearance gained here , prob 1.5 in of up clearance alone , I'll prob trim the inner metal too . It's all about Low Centre Of Gravity and the biggest tire with small lift

LOL Nope , NO tube fenders , keeping as stock as possible , I took out the extended bump stops too

Good idea about cleaning out the tank . It might be a good time to change the fuel filter while I have it down too
Ratchet straps work good for holding / pulling the tank up
