Anybody with an SWR Meter that is attending next months run who wouldn't mind taking a few minutes to help tune my CB?
Cheers

I listen to some of the truckers when I am around Burnside, and sometimes the dump trucks around large construction sites.

I didn't mean on the road, I meant in general, although I have caught a few things around town! Last trail run I could hardly hear anything.. It wasn't working that great!

Most issues with CB's are not SWR, but usually related to the installation of the antenna mount.

Most truckers on using HAM these days though. Ben, how is your antenna mounted?

It's mounted on my tire rack with a mount from Steve's radio and alarm, worked perfect on my last jeep maybe this one is a little off?

My cheap Cobra in my LJ works better then the full pimp Cobra in the Van

Check to make sure the center post of the antenna mount isn't touching ground. It's pretty easy to install the mount incorrectly. The white washer has to isolate the antenna from ground.

No need to tune the antenna If you are using a fibreglass whip.
