If you have a Factory tranny crossmember put it in for now. It will help keep everything straight.

Not too much to show in pics, but lots on the go. I have the frame all cleaned up, but I've done some measuring and it is going to require some narrowing in the front and rear in order to clear the tires. My housings are narrow, only 58.5" WMS to WMS, so even with a 3.5" backspace wheel, the tires are going to need additional room to move around. For reference, a stock JK housing is 65" between WMS, so yeah they're narrow.
I am figuring on this being an advantage, since it should have a wicked nice and tight turning radius, and be able to fit in trails where a TJ can fit, but a normal JK can't.
Since the front of the frame is bent anyways, I am hacking off an additional 24" or so of frame, pretty much all the way back to just ahead of where the firewall would be. From there, it will be re-building it with square tube, making as narrow as possible. I want to be able to JUST clear the oilpan and block hugger headers inside the frame, and then run the coilovers on the outside of the frame.
In the rear, I'll have to narrow in the back part of the frame as well, which will also include modifying the wheelwell to clear the tires.
I have a set of Allied beadlocks in the mail (17 x 9.5, 3.5" BS), and my Profender coilovers should be in soon as well. I'll post pics of the eye candy when they arrive.

If I'm not mistaken, those are CHROME!
They are steel, eh? Would like to see a pic with the outer ring removed. Detail of rim with no outer, and insert or tapped hole. If you get around to it.
They look same as Cragar Soft8 I run on the buggy.

Chrome in this instance, will most certainly get you home. haha that is EXACTLY what I was thinking when I opened the boxes last night!!! And yes, they are indeed chrome (steel). I couldn't stand the thought of trashing an aluminum wheel in the rocks, and I thought these would stand up good to abuse, plus look unique at the same time. To my knowledge nobody else around here is running chrome beadlocks with shiny gold bolts. I'll get a picture with the beadlock ring removed tonight.

Beadlock ring removed The bolt holes are inserts. What's the more common method, inserts or tapped?

mine are the same , only in black . check the welds on the inside before you mount the tires . one of mine had a pinhole that leaked . went flat over night . called the company only to be told it happens ever so often . the only thing to do at that time was to take the tire off again or use silicone on the hole . it got the silicone and has been fine sence .
