The lucasville rd gate is actually back in the bushes. Has been for a long time. About a month ago they dropped an entire dump truck load of rock across the entrance though. A pretty firm keep out in that direction. On the other hand, there is absolutely no gates or signage from the lucasville subdivision entrance, the Kingswood South entrance or the Atlantic Playland entrance.
They have also opened an entrance right beside Kearny Lake rd due to construction crews doing water line stuff along the highway service road there.
So what do the land use laws state about gates and signage at two out of 5 entrances to a trail? Or rather, are the landowners simply different people from that end of things. What parts of the range could actually be considered closed due to the gates in the highway and at lucasville.

It is stated "No Trespassing" at Atlantic Playland, and there are gates. The gate down towards the mill on Lucasville is also closed. It has been in use again for since at least last fall, there was just no lock on it.

What parts of the range could actually be considered closed due to the gates in the highway and at lucasville. Try doing some research yourself! And you tell us. To get you started - rediscover the landowners controlling the gates, ( posted that other thread?) anything they own behind the gates is going to be subject to their wishes. edit - i thought there were links to maps with pid's here, but I guess not. I'll have to find them later.

Just a idea... if you see an open gate and decide to go on a tour down the road it might not be a good idea. I have got calls from people late at night to come open a gate. I had people working back there and the gate was open for log trucks and workers. At the end of the day I locked it up trapping people behind the gate. Now on a good day people think I am grumpy looking, you should see me when I have to go let people out at 10pm. I like to go on jeep tours and explore some also but always respect the fact that land owners are the ones who own the land. Land ownership changes an what used to be allowed can change with new owners.
Just my 5 cents worth.....

Yup, I have done some hunting on barrett land (with permission) and have come across more than a few hunters who drove their trucks in passed the gate without a key and had themselves locked in.
