build started last spring after my wife said she would like to get a camper some day to tow behind out jk. we looked around a bit but couldn't find what we wanted so we decided to build one.don't have too many build pics but will share what i have.
began with deciding on a style, then with frame dimensions (5'x8').made a template on a piece of fiberboard and started building from there
from there a set of 35 krawlers on jeep wheels were bolted on(2'' spacers were needed for tire clearance)<---this led to a axle failure down the road but we'll get to that later, lol.trailer was now moveable around the shop. heres a pic of the template mock up
framing of the camper structure is 1x1x1\8 square stock.trailer now started to look a tiny bit like a camper which helped when explaining to people what i was aiming to build.axle and tires were removed and frame was set on jack stands during this stage to try and help things stay square and plumb while only tacked in place
from here lots of progress but no pics.windows were sourced from salvage yard.aluminum exterior material was from russel metals and secured to framing using aluminum solid tip rivits-so water would not leak through them. lexan sky light materials were from local glass shop. trim panels were bent up of 22 guage sheet metal and painted.insulation mounted and seams tuck taped.large interior panels were mounted but not staided at this point.door handles/locks were installed.hitch and jack both installed(hitch looks bent but is only that way because small bolt was being used to hold it in place instead of the proper pin.
