hey group..need some help..got an 08 Wrangler and I've been having starting problems...the lightning bolt light comes on and I researched that it means auto shutdown mode.. I changed relay before and it would start...but last time it did it I took it to a local garage and they checked all relays and they were working, so they took off every ground on it and cleaned them and it was starting everyday since till I just went for gas and it did it again... Can anyone help me with this? Thanks... Jason

Could be the security system or a remote starter if you have one installed.
Try jiggling the shifter knob a bit. I was out offroading with a buddy in his wrangler and another in his grand. Wrangler stopped, we all jumped out, blah blah blah and the same thing happened. Jiggled the shifter, problem solved. Did it a few times, then he had to have the starter replaced, then the NSS.
Try starting it in neutral.

Could it be your key itself? I know some keys have to communicate with the engine via a chip...if that is screwing up it may be the problem...just guessing.

my dodge ram Did the same thing. Got hit by a deer. Fixed it all up and than it started doing the same thing. So I give up and had it towed to the dodge dealer.took them 20 mins to fix it.. it was a wire for the driver side mirror. No joke. Got broken and the security system shut the truck down. It was thinking some one stolen it
