This is on my list to do James, but I have a few other places my cash needs to go first. I do every much like the look of the side bars on Derek's. I wish cash was not a limiting factor in this build, but then again if it wasn't I probably would be building a new JKU lol!
Not used to being the one with just tow hooks. The rig feels naked without a winch and I feel unprepared to go wheeling. Something I have to get used to for now, until I find a design for a sleek front bumper that can house a winch.
Today was stereo upgrade day... The original Infinity system was brutal and inconsistent. I went to Creative Auto Images and picked up a Kenwood X599 deck win the install kit and wiring harness adapter.
Had to first figure out how to by-pass the factory POS amp so that I can use the factory speakers for now. That will be another upgrade down the road.
Thanks to someone else doing all the homework, all I had to do is print off the pin outs for the inputs and outputs so I can bypass the amp.
With all the speakers jumpers and ready to test with the factory deck to make sure I got it right.
It all worked then it was the easy stuff like connecting the proper coloured wires from the radio to the wire harness adapter with some heat shrink. Now it is all buttoned up and working fine. Also like this deck since it has Bluetooth and I mounted the mic on the steering column for good sound.
